Thanks for sharing this interesting bit of history. Would love to visit the area. Have a great day.
You have the ability to make anyone reading your local posts want to come to Alaska. These are priceless.
Wow Jesse, this is an amazing story. Like Lenn makes me want to come to Alaska. That and to sneak a peak at my favorite politician who is not really a politician who lives up there. Guess who?
Jesse - You'e a great stoy-teller and that's a beautiful picture. You'e an amazing amabassador for your part of the county.
Hi Jesse & Kathy,
Terrific post! It was very enjoyable & interesting! The photo is awesome! Thank you for sharing and enjoy the weekend!

What a great story. It makes sense that Fairbanks would be settled at the point where ships couldn't go any further. And a good reminder that contracts should be followed -- real estate -- shipping -- makes no difference. One day, Jesse, I will have to visit Fairbanks and look you up.
Jesse...a great story, Not one that was told during our trip. Thanks for the history lesson! You keep adding to my Alaskan trip!
Love these historical perspectives Jesse. So many don't pay attention to how we got to where we are today. Now I know a little more about Fairbanks. Thanks.
Thats a really cool history lesson Jesse! Thanks - as I have said MANY times before I will be there one day!
This is RICH HISTORY! Told without rhetoric.... so alluring... You must have been read to as a child, and cultivated that gift up to now! Powerful!
Wow, Jesse, I have missed these, I've got some reading to catch up on. This was fun to read and learn about.
Fascinating! Great history lesson, thanks!
Hi Guys. I needed a virtual trip to Alaska today and I new I could find just what the doctor ordered from my two best Alaskans (that is what you are called right). What a great story. The pictures never disappoint also.
Hi Jesse - A wonderful tale about the beginnings of Fairbanks, Alaska! Isn't that just how life goes? Headed off to make one's fortune, than a side trip/detour comes along...
