In all reality, the Sellers and their property are the ones HGTV has their eye on. We are just riding on their coat tails : )
Our main objective is to use the opportunity to create a Social Media buzz about our client's property. What a great opportunity to market this wonderful condo! Not to mention an opportunity to boast about the great neighborhood in which it is located. We can spin it to bring positive attention to our Team and office too! We do not care if we get chosen to be on TV. It is not about us. It is about Opportunty.
These days the motto has to be, "When life tosses you lemons; make lemon-aide." In this case our motto is, "When life tosses us an opportunity to rub elbows with the producers of a Reality TV show; make lemon-aide and serve it in Champagne glasses, then talk about it on every social Media platform possible !"
Chris and Stephanie - Congratulations to you, the property, and the seller! Love your attitude of "if they pick us to be on TV or not - doesn't matter." You've got the buzz already, now it's just about the follow up to sell that house and make everyone happy! Great job.
Hi Guys, congrats on this great opportunity. Although it is great exposure for your seller, this also shows other people in Northern Liberties and surrounding areas that you are THE agents to hire to list their home. How many other agents are doing these great things to market their listings---you guys rock and deserve credit for all your hard work.
Christopher & Stephanie, This is SUCH wonderful news, I am thrilled for the both of you....and Hannah, too! Sure are a LOT of people reading Activerain :) Congratulations!!
Sounds like an amazing opportunity for you and your sellers! And what a great property. Hope you enjoy the experience and that it helps you sell the home quickly!
Thank you everyone for the well wishes regarding 1027 N 4th St, Unit L in Northern Liberties ! We are excited about this opportunity but more excited about getting the property sold for our clients !
@Matt - You nailed it in terms of how we are thinking with this ! If our sellers get the nod, great ! If not, we capitalized on a super marketing opportunity to create more of a buzz on our listing and to increase open house traffic this Sunday !
@Dan and Amy - Exactly ! If I were a seller in Northern Liberties or any surrounding area, I think I would be paying attention to the Nth detail who was out there providing maximum exposure to their listings !
After reading the Release thet HGTV needed us to sign I was like "Whoa... wait-a-second here!"
The HGTV gods basically wanted us to agree to letting them have the exclusive rights all video and audio and manipulate them in any way negative or positive to portray us in any way they wanted forever in any capacity known to human or alien kind in all of the universe for eternity.
So, we agreed : )
I took the firm advice of one of the producers who emailed me the night before. I did my hair, put on some make-up (not that I had to be instructed to do so) and had a great time! Thanks for the opportunity HGTV! I admit I was a little nervous not knowing what to expect (thus the photo to the the right). But Karen, the person masterfully working the camera, was very cool and made us feel like we were just chatting amongst friends. Chris and I are so busy all of the time running our Remax office that we rarely take the time to do something fun and different. Well, this was fun and it certainly was worth it for us to participate just for the 15 minutes of fame (in my own mind) and the right to brag a little for marketing purposes.
Good luck with the rest of your casting HGTV. Thanks everyone for the well wishes.
Philadelphia is a great city ! Northern Liberties is a great district. We invite you to visit us here any time.
Chris... as I mentioned on your most current post, this is awesome. I wish I would have read this earlier, because I would have come down to the open house to be on your VIP list, but I am running late for plans today's football game anyhow. But this is great and think you and Stephanie are a great fit for this. Besides, this condo sounds like a great catch. especially for the area... PS.. if you still have an extra VIP invite, I still would love to come to the show.

I tried out for "my first place". They did an interview with a camera person and everything, but then they never called me back. It must have been my over-enthusiasm about buying a place.
Anyway, Congratulations!
