No Place From Here But Down

I love blogging here on Active Rain.

But, I have been so busy this week working with first time homebuyers that are hoping to get in on the $8000 tax credit that I really haven't had a chance to write an article.

This picture was taken at the top of Sheikra at Busch Gardens, Tampa Florida.

I take pictures as I enjoy sharing them with others. (Just for the record, I didn't take this one, as I really don't like heights.) If you would like to use one of my photos, please ask, I am usually happy to oblige, however I would like to receive mention of having taken the picture.

Now that's MY kind of roller coaster, Sandy.  I've never been to Busch Gardens and I don't know that I'd be thinking about taking a photo at that time.  It would be more like "Ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod!"  We have something similar in Southern California at Knott's Berry Farm.  It goes pretty much straight up and straight down.  When you are just heading over the peak, I swear it feels like your head go past your feet.  It's really cool!

Sandy, I could NEVER do it!  I never liked roller coasters, they always passed the way too frightened button for me!

Sandy - My stomach is in total free fall just looking at that picture.  Forget being up there and trying to take a picture of it.  I'm with Carole, there are certain things in life you pass on and just say, "NO". . .:-)

that is the scariest part of a roller coaster..the point before you go over the edge

Sandy, I love that photo.  I've never tried a photo on a roller coaster - something to put on my to do soon list.  Thank you for sharing a fantastic photo.

Hi SS,

I once took video while on the Tower of Terror at Disney. As the ride dropped, my camera flew up and I almost lost my grip on it. It was fun to watch back later.

Sandy,

That is an incredible way to look at that ride. It might even be scarier than the ride itself. :)

Wow, that one's up there.  The drop looks like it's more than 90 degrees too.  Thanks Sandy!

Now I just want to say that you would never find me at the top of this ride. Not in this lifetime. I do not like heights at all.  Drops on rollercoasters are my least favorite. This picture was taken by my husband (you can see the hairy knee in the picture), 2 teenage daughters and their girlfriend at the top of Sheikra in Busch Gardens. I had both of my feet planted firmly on the ground when this picture was taken.

Caren, I agree, this is much too scary for me. No thank you!

Silvia, I'm with you, I don't like heights either, at all!

Heather, Well, I bet that you'd love this one. We'll give you a call the next time we're going and you can ride it the 9 times they rode it. It makes my head spin just thinking about it.

Chris, This is one of the big Daddies of all roller coasters, there's no question about that!

Paul, I'm not keen on this type of ride either. I'd be standing on the ground, right next to you, while they're riding this one.

Mary, I wouldn't have been able to let go either. Thanks for the well wishes with the first time homebuyers.

Amy, There's alot of us here that would just be watching, as the rest of them ride this one.

Hi TOTO, So this is your kind of ride, you wild man? No thank you.

Gary, My girls say the view is spectacular from up there.

Patricia, It makes me queasy just thinking about it too.

Yvette and Dennis, I'd love to take credit for the picture, but my husband took it, not me.

Lou, Too long for me.

Marney, This would be fun for you then. I only like rollercoasters that don't have huge drops like this one. Overall I avoid them.

Carole, This is too scary for me too. I agree.  You and I would be standing on the ground with some of the rest of us here.

Myrl, I would pass on this one also, as I did the 9 times they rode it on this particular day.

Konnie, I agree with you. This is the reason I don't ride these.

Gary, This turned out to be a really neat picture that my husband took on this ride.

Rob, I'll have to holler the next time we head over there.  You can meet us there!

Ann, I'm with you Ann. The only pictures I have of Sheikra are from the ground, looking up.

Teresa, I hope we can get those First Time Homebuyers in under the wire.

Hi TO, Oh, Tower of Terror, that's another one I don't care to ride. The ups and drops - ugh. You are quite brave. I bet you got some good shots.

Steve, It sure looks pretty scary to me.

Kevin, You are correct, this is more than a 90 degree drop.

Hi Ann, Well, I guess that makes two of us then. I really don't do them much anymore either. And you sure would never catch me on one with a drop like this. No way!

I'm a little afraid of heights.  On 60 Minutes I watched the Bird Men.  Fascinating!

Allen, I'm afraid of heights too. So I watched from the ground as my family rode this coaster.

Ann, I must be getting old, because these rides hurt my neck and my head when I ride them. So I prefer not to. Not to mention that my stomach is in my throat when I get off of one of these things.

Chris, It does kind of make your stomach turn, doesn't it?
