Charleston Animal Society Waiving Cat Adoption Fees This Weekend

If you have been thinking about bringing home a cat, or adding another one to your household, then this is the weekend for you to take action!

This weekend has been dubbed "Feline Frenzy". From today, October 9th through Sunday, October 11th you can visit the Charleston Animal Society, pick out your next feline family member that is over one year old, and the shelter will waive its adoption fee.

Every new pet comes either spayed or neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, microchipped, and you also get a free follow-up vet exam.

Potential new guardians will still have to go through the adoption process and meet shelter criteria for loving, responsible, permanent homes.

And make sure that you head over to their facility on Remount Road to find your new four-legged feline family member!

Such a great event.

Hopefully many of these cats and kittens will find loving caring folks happy to bring them in =to their homes.

How many will the Hart family be adopting this weekend?!!!

Craig: I think that many homes will be joined by new feline members this weekend in Charleston.

As for the Hart family, as much as I'd love to get another cat, we are at capacity with the five we presently have!

NOt that I like cats as I'm allergic, but this sounds like a great way to get some into some new families.

Five cats! That is a house full.

Hopefully people will come out to adopt those kittens and cats this weekend.

That is great news! OUr local shelter does this too from time to time....lots of black kitties this time of year. As we approach Halloween, our shelter suspends adoptions of black cats to be on the safe side :-)

What a nice idea! So many people have tight budgets this year but still long for the comferts of an animal. This is the perfect dove tail to happiness. Thanks for the post

Liz: A couple of our pets came from there, and I can fully understand not needing any more!

Rita: I haven't heard yet, but I have a feeling that this was a great success for some fortunate felines!

Toula: Five independent spirits is more like it!

Kristin: I think that is very wise! Just like I think bunnies should not be adoptable or for sale around Easter.

Sandra: This would be a great option for those with tighter budgets right now. Feeding could be another story, though :)
