William, Oh my gosh, June lake how beautiful. Boy I haven't seen that place (dare I say) since the 1960's!

It is gorgeous but now I need to know the rest of the story as I'm not familiar with June Lake.

William,

This is a magnificent view. Wow, what a setting. Reminds me of the Caucasus. Great photo. You series of landscapes is exceptional. It really is.

Woo Hoo, I was taken with the water color and beauty that surrounds this Sierra Mountain Lake. There was a lookout and I went up and the photo turned out terrific.

Hi Lynda, Are you back from Australia? Can

Can't wait to see the photos.

I do have to admit, these mountain lakes are amazingly beautiful and they change by the season. I see that next week they will have snow in the forecast.

Hi Marchel,  made that easy for you. Just click on the photo. Notice the weather forecast for next week. Snow. My photo compares with their photos, (though mine seems just a tad more beautiful ? )

Hi William - really pretty photo.  It has been several years since I visited the June Lake Loop.  We used to camp by the lakes up in that area.  Each of the lakes has its own charm and it is surprising how different a few are from the others.  Did you see all the gulls?

Hi Susan, I saw a number of them but certainly not all and each is really different, especially Mono Lake. I didn't see the gulls the day I was there. It was pretty warm and mid afternoon. Would have loved to see this place in the morning as the sun was peaking up on it. Now that would have been a photo. It was also hazy and remained so throughout the rest of the trip. Most all the mountains had a haze and I knew the photos would be affected. Now on a clear day, what amazing photos they would have been. But my brain has the beauty imprinted on it. Whn people see and embrace the Sierra's, they will never be disappointed no matter the weather or the time of year.

William, you must be having a blast.  I haven't been to the east side of the Sierras in about 15 years.  One of my most vivid memories of that area is swimming in a mountain stream and having these little water snakes swimming about me.  I got out of the water fast!  I also remember the brown trout in the streams,  the cool mornings in such a pristine environment, breathing the mountain air.

Hi Liz, Snakes, huh? Not my favorite animal by far. It is simply beautiful there and people need to go there to experience it. Photos can not really capture the sheer and awesome beauty. The water in lake tahoe was the only water I was in and it was in the 6o's . It does take your breath away for a bit. A long bit actually. The mountain lakes and streams though are totally breathtaking.

Hi John, Thanks You. It was taken Sept 18th, 2009, just a few weeks ago. The water was cold no doubt.

William - I have heard of June Lake, but have never seen it!  The color of the water is spectacular.  You're right about the water temperatures of the Sierra lakes, they can be quite cold, year round!  That's a really nice photo.

Hi Mryl, I hadn't heard of it before but it was called out on the route driving back from Tahoe. Many lakes , smaller but positively beautiful and picturesque. Wan't to see as much as I cold. Glad this was something new for you to see.
