There is so much of this stuff, it is overwhelming.  I have got to settle down and concentrate on one or two platforms or I am going to go nuts.  Thats for keeping us informed, Rebecca.

Hi Jane,

Yes you only want to use the tools that work with your marketing strategy and the networking platforms where you can be in front of your customers...existing and potential.  Otherwise the tools are using you and they become a distraction from the money work.

There lies the rub.  I have no clue which ones are valuable for my business.  Although the clue would be that my sphere seems to be the less technical group of people many of whom barely use the internet :)

Hi Jane,

So ask yourself who you are looking to market yourself to online.  YOu don't have to be that tech savvy to use Facebook and blog results show up in regular keyword searches done through Google.

Blogging will always be a good way to reach out to potential customers because no matter what it is a content based marketing strategy-----also you are giving information which you can repurpose into other formats (e.g. offline newsletters) to send to your sphere some of which who may not be online that often.

You want to be able to work your marketing so that you integrate both offline and online efforts.

Interesting concept on your slideshow, Rebecca...this one I will have to bookmark for follow-up later as I don't quite get exactly what "Posterous" is and what it does. It seems like another tangent and I can only focus on so many things at once! :)

Rebecca - I love my Posterous account. I've been using it for quite awhile and have it set up to automatically post to Twitter, Facebook and Flickr. It's easy to use and saves me a lot of time.

Leilani- Only a tangent if it doesn't fit into your marketing plan.  Check out the slide on the 23 ideas and see if one fits and makes sense for your business.

Kevin and Monica- Yes it syndicates nicely.

I just learned about Posterous at REBarCamp and have been setting up my profile and testing it out some today.  It looks super easy!

Hi Ann,

It is really easy.  I have a Posterous account.  I don't currently use Posterous, though I have gone thru it inside out, because I am already blogging and article writing on a few platforms and if I set up Posterous it will have a focus, even if the focus is fun and frivolity:)
