Social media icons for Active Rain users - Raindrops

I decided to take a stab at creating some social media icons. I like the bottle caps that Jeremy and Bob have been using but wanted to do something more specific to Active Rain. So without further ado here they are:

Active Rain - Icon You can link this as a blog subscription button or to your active rain profile. It's pretty much universal.

Facebook Raindrop Here's one for Facebook. You can use it to link to your profile or fan pages.

Flickr Raindrop Here's a Flickr icon for you.

Linkedin Raindrop Linkedin

RSS Raindrop

For you RSS feed.

YouTube Raindrop YouTube

If there are any I missed I'll take requests. Everyone is welcome to use them and since I'm a firm believer in there's no such thing as a free lunch, all I ask in return is for you to leave me a comment so I can check them out on your blogs.

Brian - those are amazing! What software are you using - your graphics are always so nice! Will have to "snag" these in the near future -

Rich, You can add them to your blog via your signature - go to your home page and on the left click on "Settings". See the new "signature box" - just fill that out using photos and text and links and it will be displayed on all of your blogs as your signature. If you need more help just let me know - you can email or call me.

Brian, don't you ever rest??!! these are awesome, I need to figure out how to use them. Still can't get on Facebook, and still don't know how to find out if I ever will again. I started a new profile with a new email address, new password and my name without my maiden name sandwiched in the middle. When I went to sign in the second time to work on it, it is locking me out of my new one now too. It's creeping me out.

They do have this Web 2.0 feel. Good job Brian. Seems you do have a graphic designer background. I started a company here in Ottawa 5 years ago called Xyfex Media where we made websites for many companies including real estate agents.

Here's a quick tip for those who don't know how to insert these graphics or include these as their "widget" - the social media platforms provide you script to put into your website and will reference an IMG URL - you'll want to either upload your graphic to photobucket.com or create a hidden page in your P2 website for placing these graphics. Either way, you'll grab the URL of the image and replace it in your script. May have to tweak the size if a size is referenced in the original script.

And if you're provided just a URL and not script, you'll simply place the graphic onto your content page and link it to the URL.

Brian ~ Thanks a bunch, my husband is complaining if I sit by this computer much longer working with the buttons he says somethings going to hatch. I looked through dozens and dozens of social media icons and I couldn't find any that I liked as much as I like yours. I have added three of them to my signature~ which was no small feat since I am somewhat technology challenged.

Brian, thanks so much for creating these! I'll definitely use them and will start adding them to my blog posts. Since you are so creative, here are some other ideas, just brainstorming here based on what I've seen on the internet: seasonal icons (i.e. fall with leaves, winter in snow, spring, summer, any popular holiday, valentine's day with hearts, st. patty's day with green, icons in the shape of houses for us realtors, icons in the shape of a key, a door). Ok, my brain is hurting now :-) Thanks again for sharing these with us here in the Rain.
