I received mine, I know Missy Caulk and Kevin and Monica Ray received theirs.  Anyone Else?

My Wave account does not yet have the function to invite others.  Google says this is the reason:

As soon as we're confident that the system can accept more users, we will add a wave to your account that allows you to nominate friends and colleagues for an account. Once you have the capability to invite people, the wave appear in your inbox.

Meanwhile, if you did get your Wave account, we can practice waving at each other.

I discovered you must add the individual to your contacts list before you can wave with them.

If your Google Wave account is set up, go to http://wave.google.com

Click on Manage Contacts, at the bottom of the left panel.

Click the + sign/add contact icon

Enter my name: Cheryl, and my gmail address: cheryljns @ gmail.com, click save.

Once I am entered as a contact, you can create a New Wave, and add me to that Wave.

Google Wave is kinda sorta a hybrid of email/instant messaging/twitter/group blogging.  I can see a lot of uses for it.

Gee, maybe I should create a Google Wave group here on AR.

Hi Cheryl - I just added you as a contact on my Google Wave account, it looks like an amazing tool and will be even more fun once they open it up to more people. I can see where this will save a lot of time and help communication.

Hi Cheryl - No invite for me yet, but I'd love to check it out. I think Wave could be a great tool for working with buyers, particularly those who are relocating.

John ... It will be a great tool for working with relocation buyers.

I'm looking forward to using it as a way for the agents and office staff to easily communicate back and forth.

I hope my account gets the ability to nominate others for invitations real soon!

Meanwhile, it's Missy, Monica and Me playing with a practice wave.  All the functionality does take some getting used to.

I just signed up for an invite a minute ago.  Still waiting for my invitation and haven't yet looked at Google Wave in any detail.

I hope they don't restrict it to US locations only as they did with Google Voice.

Hi Cheryl ~ Nope, haven't received my invite yet either. You've got a google addict all a jitter now - I'll be watching my inbox like a hawk!! :-) I'm sure it won't be long though - when they rolled out the phone I got my invite soon after a post like this.

Kat,

The ability to invite others is not yet available on my account.  Google says "As soon as we're confident that the system can accept more users, we will add a wave to your account that allows you to nominate friends and colleagues for an account. Once you have the capability to invite people, the wave appear in your inbox."

This is almost as bad as waiting for the wave itself. :-)

I want one I guess.

I am not sure I know what Google Wave is but if those who have an account will add me to their lists so when it is available... I can catch up I will be forever endebted to you (kinda, it is mostly just an espression.)

I am maureenmccabecooh@googledotcom

I am off to visit your links.  Thanks Cheryl.

I was not an invitee. I have been, however, checking out the Yahoo!, Windows Live, and the current version of Googleregarding which one is the best to tie into my real estate needs. While I often use the google search because it does seem to dominate the web, I am not so sure it is the best email, photo, or, storage available to agents. I think we need to keep alternative systems that are free and available in mind when evaluating and giving advertising the google monster. Maybe we need to stop using the word googleto describe an internet web search? Have you been trying the different web browsers or Open Office?

France and Mark,

Don't feel bad, go to Twitter and follow Lars or Stephanie's tweets; you'll see Google has been having system hiccups and every time the system hiccups, the flow of invitiations slows down.

1:26pm • #35

While viewing the videos, I can see some great business benefits but until I also see exactly how some parts of it work it seems you will have to be very careful with what type of information you put on a wave if anyone that is viewing it can place it on blogs or other api's. Sensitive info could spread quickly if one was not careful. The translator seems awsome though for working with clients that may not speak your language.

Ouch!  After viewing the 10 minute video my brain hurts.  But, I see how it could be useful.  I wonder if it will kill Facebook, or if it is too complicated for most people to understand.  It looks like it may have a steep learning curve.  Just when I was starting to understand Facebook.  What effects will the Wave have on Active Rain and other blogs?

Bob:  Speaking from my ~huge~ :-) three days of experience with Wave, waves are not public like blogs, or like FaceBook.  The only people who see whats in a wave are those that are specifically added to that particular wave.

That's why Wave is looking really good to me for intra-office communications; or how about a transaction wave .. the only people included in the transaction wave are the buyer, seller, agents, title and escrow officers for that one particular transaction.
