A DENVER EXHIBIT TO SEE, FOR VISITORS AND RESIDENTS ALIKE

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is known for its great traveling exhibits that it hosts.  And the next one is no exception.  This weekend the Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition opens up and runs from June 22 - January 6, 2008.  The Titanic history and attractions are not new to Denver, as the Molly Brown House is quite a popular attraction in Denver.

It seems to me that this exhibit will explore a much deeper dimension to the tragedy as artifacts from the Titanic are displayed for the public to view and study than I have seen before.  The story of the ship & its grandeur and the wide array of passengers & their stories are displayed, capturing a new dimension to this tragic historical event.

Timed Tickets for the Denver exhibit are being sold in advance and it is recommended that they be purchased instead of walking in.  They can be purchased here.
*Something I learned from past timed exhibits, allow in your arrival time, appropriate time to park.  These big events do make the parking lot a bit crowded and it can take a little longer than usual to park and get in to the exhibit.
Ticket prices for the public are $20 (adults), $14 (Juniors - 3 - 18) and $15 for Seniors (65+) and includes Museum admission and the exhibit.  Other prices to include other options can be found here

If you are new to Denver, make time to visit the entire museum - its a treat

The Museum also has an IMAX movie showing right now to complement the exhibit.  There are other related attractions as well, including a Family overnight Camp-in and all of which can be viewed here

The museum website has loads of Titanic information, including resources for teachers and students, Denver newspaper headlines from the Titanic and much more.

We plan on visiting the exhibit in mid- July.  I will write again about the exhibit once I have been.  I wish I had photos to post for you, but the exhibit hasn't opened yet.  There are loads of photos on the museum website though, so take a look there.

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is located at 2001 Colorado Blvd, Denver.  Here is a map.

Oh! This looks like a great place to check out. I need to get to Denver more often. I find it funny that COLORADO has a Titanic Exhibition ... I guess Molly wanted to be as far from the ocean as possible?

Marianna - Thanks for stopping by my blog.  Actually Molly Brown lived in Leadville for quite some time, they were miners I believe, and if memory serves me well they moved to Denver just before the turn of the century.  Here is the link to her time-line if you are interested.  I think its great that the two museums are working together while this exhibit is here.
