Big Sky Resort - First Tracks Program 2009 - 2010
Commencing the winter of 2009-2010, Big Sky Resort in Big Sky, Montana, will be instituting guided, 8:00 a.m. tram rides, allowing up to five skiers or snow boarders one hour of skiing/riding on Lone Peak an hour before the public hits the slopes.
Called Big Sky Resort's "First Tracks Program," the arrangement allows two people for a price of $500, with up to three more at $35/person, for a total of five, to ski with a Big Sky Resort guide from 8:00 am - 9:00 am before the lifts open to the public.
Weather, snow, and terrain conditions permitting, skiers/riders will load at the Ramcharger Lift at 8:00 am for a run on Andesite Mountain, after which the skier/rider will be able to go to the Swift Current Lift, and then to the Triple Lift, and finally to the grandaddy lift, the Tram, finishing by about 9:00 am.
The program was configured to allow skiers and riders demanding to ski Lone Peak by themselves on powder days. Worth the cost? You tell me...
