Education Behind the scenes in the life of a REALTOR® is the on-going process of education. Being up on the changes facing any industry is key. And certainly real estate in the State of Washington is no exception.

Yesterday I attended our Washington Core KeysClass, brushing up on both basic topics and new changes in the face of real estate as it pertains to Washington as well as our own marketplace. Our class yesterday covered many issues, but centered on our state wide forms, the toolbox of REALTORS®.

Our class was in Clarkston, Washington, and it was a beautiful day in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley. It was hosted by Annie Fitzsimmons, a lawyer who serves as general counsel to the Washington RELATORS®. Because of her behind the scenes involvement with the development of the Washington State Wide Forms, she is a most respected and valuable resource to our industry. She is a great speaker with a background steeped in real estate. She literally grew up in the industry as her parents owned a real estate company, and later went on to become a lawyer specializing in real estate law.

For me it is always an enjoyable time to spend with my colleagues, both from my office at Beasley Realty, as well as REALTORS® from both my area in Pullman Washington, as well as out lying areas. And it is a great excuse to grab a bite to eat with fellow colleagues and catch up!

Lori:  Taking time to really sink your teeth into those forms may sound boring, but it's critical to the success of our clients.

I agree with you that our continuing education is extremely important. Good agents must be constantly learning and improving.

Good post Lori and I certainly agree with you.  I attended my company-sponsored Business Technology Fair this week and got really motivated by being in the company of so many energetic real estate professionals.

Charlie:  I always say, if you aren't learning you aren't living!

Suma:  Yes, it is great to see colleagues from around your area.

Chris:  Our forms took a state wide approved format about 2 years ago....and they are still changing...so it is important to stay on top of the contracting process so we can best serve our sellers and buyers!

Team Honeycut:  Yes, we must always learn and change.  Real estate is not static so the education process is crucial.

Gloria:  That sounds like a fun class.  There is so much new technology to learn about!

Lori, I have several online classes lined up.  I'm not a tv watcher so I am usually on the laptop while hubby watches a ballgame. This makes it really convenient for me to take classes or blog, etc.
