Hi Russel, This is one magnificent place. I was intrigued with the entire place and the antiquities that Getty Collected were nothing short of awesome. No photographs were permited inside but I was able to photograph a section of the amazingly detailed marble flooring.

Hi Karen, And they do have them, the nooks and crannies you mentioned. Actuallu more like huge rooms filled with treasyres from other times. Everywhere even on the grounds are things reminisent of the Italian Villa  ( Palace) he wanted to create. I thought the ampitheater was sort of cool as well in its seating design.

Hi Sharon, Well this is all frist round stuff. Until I learn better.  As time passes, I will start focusing in on some interesting detail. Like I thought the floor here at the Villa was really cool with all the inlay of the different marble colors. I have for instance several thousand pictures taken at the Zoo and Wild Animal part. But with the new camera, those photo will become way more interesting. I did get a close up of a lion sleeping. I was only the thickness of the glass away. Wouldn't you know the reflection wrecked the photo. But using a Polaroid filter, I hear it makes the glass seem like it disappears if you are careful not to get a sun reflection. Little by little I will get better and better.

Hi William, I'd love to go through the Villa. Any significance to the statue in the pool?

Hi Yvette and Dennis,

Thank You for dropping over and for the compliment. It is really a remarkable place and the inside which I was not allowed to take pictures in is filled with many treasured collections.

Hi Susie, I don't think so. Just things that the Getty's liked so they put them in. If there is a significance, there was nothing I found that described it as significant.

Hi Melissa,

They allow only so many people on any given day. I had to make reservations one month in advance. Funny ow that works. it created a greater determination to want to go there. Of course, now I want to go back.

Hi Myrl, It is such a remarkable place and even more difficlt to capture the essence in photos using my point and shot camera plus the restrictions of what you can take pictures of. I will go back this coming Spring and I will be ready. :-)

Hi Cary, Appreciate you dropping by. We all love San Diego, great weather, a beautiful city with so many amenities. But for those on the other coast, it's the weather that draws people here. Easy to understand. But is also a wonderful tourist destination for those with lives and careers that would not make San Diego home. So come for a visit and enjoy the warm weather, the hospitable businesses , hotels and especially the kindness of our citizens in making everyone feel welcome. San Diego is hosting the NAR fall meeting here and it will an outstanding event. Come for that and join in the ActiveRain get-to-gether. The day before all that states on November 13th, we are having the REBar Camp here on the 12th and everyone with ActiveRain will appreciate the ability to learn by participating.

Hi Judi, I started adding in more photos to the comments section and people seem to like coming back to see what I added. So as long as it works, I will continue doing this. I was at the Apple store the other night and I needed some help with one of the features on the MAC. So the young guy had me log in to where I often upload photos and I ended up getting others coming over to look at the photos. That was interesting. Maybe I 'll pick up a few new readers that may be house hunting, :-)

Hi Gary, You need to make advance reservations as they control the number of guests per day that will need parking . But I do understand that thier are local buses if you find that advance reservations might be an issue. But you should definitely plan to go there. The collections are remarkable.
