Scenic Sunday in Old Town Alexandria

On this Scenic Sunday in Old Town Alexandria, I was on my way home from church - and on my way to an open house - when I passed this mass of Virginia Creeper hanging over a fence on Cameron Street. I stopped to get a quick picture and then looked up, up, up to see the entire side of house covered in reds and golds.

Liz - I know! I have Virginia Crreeper on a fence at my house but it doesn't get the sun it needs so it never changes color - much to my dismay.

"Creeper" is pretty resislient and even if it had to go away for awhile, it would be back - in force - in short order.

I've never seen Virginia Creeper like that! I thought it was poisonous for the longest time!

Melissa, we were blessed with a beautiful Sunday. Very busy, but I managed to step outside during my open house and enjoy the sunshine for a few minutes!
