Winter Driving by Teri Eckholm Realtor

Put this one in the "Perpetuating the Minnesota Myth" file as this is not normal, but....SNOW is here!

No...I am not ready for this kind of weather! It snowed in MN yesterday...not even an inch but enough to stick on the grass and trees. It is the earliest snow fall in 24 YEARS in the Twin Cities. Of course it melted by the afternoon but no one wants to go from the 80's one week to the 30's the next. And...can you believe it?...The weather gurus are forecasting 2-4 INCHES more for the Monday morning commute? It is going to be a long winter this year!

Respectfully as I can say it:  Keep it!  I'm staying in Florida where we have frost 5-10 times a year and NO snow!  I miss the look of the fresh falling snow but the work, slop and danger is a thing of the past for me.

Teri - Believe it or not, here in Central Oregon, we beat you by a week (here's my snow photo from last Sunday). I think it was our earilest snow EVER. I'm not ready either -- not by a long shot!

Teri  You are a brave soul - the only thing wrong with MN - it's lousy sledding the last two weeks in July  :)  BTW Monday is a holiday - it shouldn't affect the commute  Karen

I don't think I would ever be ready for snow like that!  We hardly ever get more than just an inch, and that's usually gone by the next day at the latest.

Still sunny and warm in Michigan. I would prefer to see the snowfall from your blog but I am afraid we are in for an early winter also.

Goodness, Teri, and I thought we had it bad because it's cold.  I'm fleeing to Florida--surely my old friends will be happy to see me :)

Teri,

At least you are equipped to handle it. We are still waiting for our first cool day. :)

Sara--We don't really want it this early either! :)

Lisa--I do believe it! Crazy weather so early in the season for several northern states.

Tom--I agree...definitely NOT ready!

Karen--LOL...funny but I think that joke is supposed to be about Canada or Alaska not MN! The holiday is not for those attending school in MN only government workers were off so there were dozens of accidents and more this morning with the melting and refreezing.

Jim&Maria--Maybe I should retire in SC...I hear it is beautiful there! :)

Terry&Bonnie--So did you get hit with snow or rain? You usually get our hand-me-down (or east) storms! :)

Marchel--We keep making that same joke around here...global warming yeah right!

Carole--Will be heading there myself as I hear they have all the warm weather in the south!

Joan--Yep! That white stuff...some refer to as S***...is back WAY too early for me!

Sally--Much too early for winter white snow in several states....maybe Hawaii would be a good change of scenery, hmmmm...

Steve--We may have the equipment but the driving skills are a bit weak during the first snow and so many werent ready for it either! Your day will come soon I am sure!

Teri,

It's too early for that 4 letter word.  I like to have it for the holidays.
