It's funny how fast the last 24 years has went by in my real estate career in Waukesha County. When I started there was a little "Boris" dot matrix printer one could look up Waukesha County MLS properties and Milwaukee County MLS properties from. It was a product of the MLS and that was pretty much it. In Wisconsin at that time there was talk about putting a home inspection clause in the offer to purchase, and for the most part the offer was just a couple of pages. Every two week would go by and I would give my printed MLS books, book A (Milwaukee County only) or book B(everywhere else) to some of my motivated customers. If I have lots of people I was working with I would order extra books, or tear out the municipality or area they were looking in. No Internet, just a huge newspaper bill each week and an awful lot of cold calling and door knocking. Things have changed, and how they have changed. One day the velocity picked up in the Waukesha County market and it required an agent to start learning more, and more, and yet more about many different areas.
Change can be good, and sometimes change can be difficult, but one thing is for sure. Change will always take place and if you are not in tune with it or make the adjustment you can get caught up in the dust. There are so many wonderful ways for consumers looking at buying a home in Waukesha County can benefit now. There is the Internet, IDX exchange, buyer agency, social networking and websites; the list goes on. However, nothing will ever replace the need for good old hard work and a major conviction to always make sure a buyer or seller is totally happy and have reached their goals. My best real estate in Waukesha County tool remains to be the phone, and I happily talk and use it at least 200 to 300 hundred minutes a day. It's where people reached me. I do believe when I pass away I will have acquired more cadmium in my ear than any other human being on Earth. A burning desire to be a productive salesman, and really have the ability for conversion into closings is a one on one, right in front of people attribute that works very well. It's important that buyers and sellers not only see you are driven, but feel your energy as well. I absolutely love working in Waukesha County real estate and everyday I wake up I am more psyched than the previous one.
