Foliage 10/11/09...the clouds have lifted...photos from home.

This has been a busy Columbus Day Weekend...but it was overcast for most of Saturday & Sunday. Here are a couple of late day photos with a little sun on the mountains.I was pretty busy at the office today, lots of walk-ins while the Kancamagus scenic highway was jammed...but ran home to get some shots ( taken in Woodstock New Hampshire).

Getting Dark at five O'clock.

This little brook (700 feet from the house) comes off the main branch of the Pemigewasset River.

Only the highest branches on this birch were getting the sun as it sets behind the western mountain range.

After my walk in the woods today, I took one last photo before the sunset...goodnight my Activerain friends

Courtney, I'm blushing a little, this is a labor of love I need to take a walk after work when I get home. I just try to bring a camera while I'm winding down from my day.

Steve...We had a hard freeze the last couple of nights coupled with the dry weather this fall...most of my color is laying on the ground!

Bill...It was below 30 degrees here this morning too, I don't think there are many more foliage days ahead.

Steve - Those photos are fantastic. What a great view from your kitchen window. The only thing that makes me sad about this time of year, is the shorter daylight hours.

It is a great time to live inthe northern climates the colors can be spectacular.

Judy...It is hard to come home to the dark waiting for you in the driveway, but the seasons will change whether I like it or not. I'll try to enjoy this fleeting time as best I can.

Wow, Your fall is really advanced. We are finally starting to see tinges of color at this time. I would expect to see peak colors in about 2-3 weeks...

Michael...We are well along the way here, After another freeze again this morning our leaves will be on the ground very soon.

Wish Atlanta was experiencing that kind of peaceful beauty. All this rain is about to make me start selling flood insurance. Nice pics!
