Hi Steve,

I love the colors on the Wood Pecker.  We get them in our garden from time to time and I love to watch them.

Thank you for sharing this lovely picture.

Hi Steve,

Terrific shot of the Red Bellied Woodpecker!  We have them come to our bird feeding station quite often.  They enjoy the suet cakes that we put out & they are fun to watch.  Thanks for sharing!

Steve, he is just beautiful!  This is one good reason to have a bird feeder.

Hmmm . . . it doesn't have a red belly!  It's a red headed woodpecker!!  ;-)

While they are cute, if they are anything like the blue woodpecker's (at least I think they are woodpeckers) in my neighborhood, they sure can wreak havoc!  Many people have multiple holes in their siding.  I replaced mine with fiber cement and I'm crossing my fingers!

I have to say the woodpecker is the quietest of birds until you decide to put your tent next to their favorite tree, then 5am they make a rooster look quiet! (They are pretty to look at though)

Carla - There is a red-headed woodpecker as well near here, but I've never seen it.

Chanda - Don't know if you are talking about a woodpecker or a Blue Jay, which is aggressive, loud albeit very pretty while doing it.

Gary - Thanks for comenting!

Irene - This one wasn't too hard, when winter comes he is always around.

Todd - Haha, that reminds me of the chuckers (I think that is what they were called) in HI. I thought they were fighting every morning they were so loud!
