The 25th annual "Taste of Our Town" (TOOT) was held on Saturday, October 10, 2009, from 11:00 am-3:00 pm. This event is a benefit for Carnegie Hall. Residents and visitors from across the region gathered on the historic streets of downtown Lewisburg to sample delicacies from local restaurants, civic clubs and organizations.
The main street in Lewisburg and some side streets were blocked off for this annual event. This year, TOOT tokens had to be purchased, as the vendors did not accept cash in exchange for food. TOOT is fun for the whole family from....live entertainment, clowns, tasting foods, face painting, and so much more.
If you left TOOT hungry....well, all I can say is you missed out on some great foods and oh, so many different desserts. My husband and I have been attending the TOOT event ever since moving to Lewisburg in 2005....it is so much fun.
I found Jessie Pierson, Miss West Virginia USA - 2009, viewing some artist paintings at the Cooper Gallery. Miss Pierson is from Milton, West Virginia.
Hope to see you at next year's TOOT event.
