Whenever I leave my home or office, I always take some reading materials with me. Sometimes, though, it takes me as long to decide what to take as it does to actually eat because I'm usually reading many things concurrently.
Here is what is on my reading list right now:
- "Life 101: Everything We Wish We Had Learned About Life in School, But Didn't," by John-Roger and Peter McWilliams
- "Guerrilla Marketing Weapons: 100 Affordable Marketing Methods for Maximizing Profits from Your Small Business," by Jay Conrad Levinson
- "The Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi/450D Companion," by Ben Long
- "1000 Recordings to Hear Before You Die," by Tom Moon
- "Walking San Diego: Where To Go To Get Away From It All," by Lonnie Hewitt and Barbara Moore
- "Afoot and Afield: San Diego County," by Jerry Schad
- "Beginning Joomla! From Novice to Professional," by Dan Rahmel
- "Planet Cat: A Cat-alog," by Sandra Choron, Harry Choron, and Arden Moore
- "National Geographic Field Guide to Birds: California"
- "National Geographic Field Guide to the Birds of North America"
- "A Field Guide to the Wild Flowers of North America," by Joan Barker
Since I obviously didn't have enough to read, I decided to start a new book:
"Real Estate the Right Rome Way," by Margaret Rome
Some of you might recognize the name since Margaret is one of our very active members right here at ActiveRain.
Back in August, Margaret called me to ask me if she could send me a free copy of her book. Huh? You had to ask?! My wise old grandmother told me never to turn down something that's free. If you don't like it once you get it, you can always throw it away give it away to someone else.
The book with index and introduction is about 200 pages, and I read 37 pages while I was supposed to be drinking margaritas and eating jalapeno nachos and enchiladas. It's not that it's an easy read, and I don't consider any book an easy read if it makes you think along the way. It's that I was totally engrossed by it.
I'll have a more detailed review after reading the book, but I wanted to share with you my personality type, which Margaret explained to a T, or as she ways, to an E. I'm a Type E personality. Not only that, but on her 30 point quiz, I scored a perfect 30, which means that I'm perfectly crazy. That part I already knew, though -- LOL.
Listen to this description of me, straight from the book:
28-30 points: Undoubtedly a Type E Mystic
You're a mystic visionary who operates so far outside the box you can't remember where the box is most of the time. Since you have more than just your head in the clouds, it can be a challenge to communicate your ideas and passions to other people.
You've also got the gift of time travel -- that is, the ability to bring the vision of our world's future into the present. Without you, human experience would be an endless stream of mundane routines, never reaching for the limitless possibilities that you bring to the rest of us.
Type E Mystics have an uncanny ability to see the big picture even before anything can be seen on the horizon. Their challenge lies in dealing with teh details and communicating their vision to others. They require the help of a Type E Translator to put their ideas nito action and a Type E Manager or two to keep things running smoothly.
When in balance, Type E Mystics are the picture of creativity, enjoying every second of life. Out of balance, they likely will experience a roller coaster ride that creates extreme levels of stress for themselves, their businesses, and their families as well.
Now you know why I haven't finished any of those 11 books I'm reading. I promise to finish Margaret's book, and soon.
Meanwhile, I'm firing my psychiatrist and her brother, my psychologist....
