LYMAN ORCHARD'S - PRESIDENTIAL CORN MAZE

Middlefield, CT 06455

Looking for something to do on Columbus Day.. when your children are off from school?

How about Lyman Orchards Presidential Corn Maze! This opened up on  September 5 and will continue through November 1, 2009.

This is the 10th annual corn maze, and one that should not be missed.  This is held on one of America's (needless to say Connecticut's too) oldest family-owned farms.

This season marks the 10th Maze Anniversary for Lyman Orchard's Mazes, and they have made it a very special one. With the presidential election last year and with it's historic landmark, they are honoring the present and the past with this maze.  Brett Herbst, the Guiness World Record holder for maze designing took on this challenge by carving both George Washington and Barack Obama in the maze.

Not only are they honoring our country's Commanders-In-Chief this year, but they are also acknowledging the committment the American people have to the democratic process.  At this point, I would also like to thank the military for their committment too.. if it weren't for our service men and women, we would not have this opportunity.

Admission to the maze this year is $9.00 for ages 13 and older; $5.00 for ages 4 through 12; and admission is free for children 3 and under. The same price as last year.

For more information call 860-349-1793 or visit their website Lyman Orchards.

Valerie - Lyman Orchards sounds like a wonderful place!  The picture of the apple pie on their website makes me want to hop on a plane right now.  And that isn't even mentioning the corn maze.  How fun would that be?  Thanks for sharing.

Toula.. Yes, it is a nice event.  It is so much fun.. hard to believe that you can get VERY hot walking through a corn maze.

Valerie I went through the Corn Maze last year, but have not had a chance to get over there this year yet.  The Maze is a lot of fun especially to do as a family thing.

George... I'm going to have to try the maze this year.  It seems that whenever I want to go... it's RAINING. LOL.  Are the Gods trying to tell me something?

Irene.. Yes, I'd say Indiana is just a little to far to do a corn maze.  However, if you planned on making a week out of it, for the fall foliage (maybe next year) this would be something to add to the trip.
