FTC Brings Some Rules To Bloggers
FTC has learned that bloggers are making a mark in the housing market. To make sure that we are all on the up-and-up the FCC has some new rules for bloggers. I have never been paid for blogging, and also have not made up stories to blogg. Whether blogging or helping someone buy or sell real estate I have always found that telling the truth, although sometimes painful is always the way to work. Here are some more thoughts on the recent FTC ruling.
The Federal Trade Commission ruled today that writers on the Web must clearly disclose any freebies or payments they get from companies for reviewing their products. The commission also said advertisers featuring testimonials that claim dramatic results cannot hide behind disclaimers that the results aren't typical.
OK bloggers, we now have to tell the truth, at least if we get paid for it. Personally, I've never been paid for any blogs, or been given any freebies. But the fact that the FTC is even recognizing bloggers is amazing to me.
