Another social and business media email

Amy Jones Realtor I received another invite for a brand new social media and business network. I can't remember the name of it because my head exploded as soon as I received it.

Doesn't anyone get tired of sitting alone at the computer and calling is social?

Does anyone besides me feel like "ENOUGH ALREADY!"?

Yes, but I don't think we've seen anything yet! The internet created a global economy, and the social media marketing options are now the way of that kind of communication -- global biz/personal. Less differentiation between the two aspects, all the time.

I think you are right - how can it all be so social if we are sitting behind a laptop/computer/phone? I am needing more face to face time! I thought this same thing last week when my husband and I are eating lunch together in a restaurant. I look up and he is checking messages on his phone and I am reading my emails. Now that is bad. I immediately put my phone down and started a conversation.

Amy - I agree with Li above. What we're experiencing now is minuscule compared to what the future will bring. We'll see whether the changes will be perceived as positive or negative.

Li & John. You're probably right, unfortunately. Do you think people felt this way when Bell invented the telephone?

Suzanne. I've noticed the same thing...we'll actually my husband points it out to me when I'm stuck to my blackberry. I appreciate his nudge!

Hi Amy ~ Absolutely!! And it always kills me at events that are geared to "social" marketing to see everybody hunched over the computers, phones, etc. Truth be told, someday when I retire I'm unplugging - and I look forward to it!
