We will be attending the first ever writers barcamp to be held in Historic Downtown, Bryan, TX.

(Note: This is the first writers barcamp to be held in Texas, not the first writers barcamp ever. That was held in Milwaulkee in June. Check out www.writecampmilwaukee.com)

This will be a really exciting event where writers of all styles and formats will be able to get together to discuss and interact with each other and hopefully learn a thing or two.

Where: Varisco Building in Historic Downtown Bryan, TX

When: October 24, 2009 at 9:00 am

Cost: Nothing

Attendees: Bloggers, authors, journalists, publishers, editors, twitters, social media addicts.

Content: Fun, learning, interaction, fun, learning, interaction (not necessarily in that order)

Glad to hear you'll be attending this great event. If you're interested, have a look at the website for the U.S.'s first WriteCamp (or Writers BarCamp) at www.writecampmilwaukee.com. It was held back in June, and we're very pleased to be a part of the planning - albeit from afar - for the first such event in Texas.

Thanks so much for posting this on your blog. Great title, BTW. Mr. Dryden is correct on both accounts, our copy is misleading, and the "First Writers BarCamp" ever was WriteCamp, ours is the first in Bryan, and Texas for that matter. Hopefully, the un-conference model will be wildly popular with writers and these are just the tip of the iceburg of Writers BarCamps.

He is also helping tremendously, virtually. Without his help, I would have abandoned ship.

I am looking forward to meeting you Sat, and thank you personally help spread the word!

Thank you for your comments and I checked out the site you mentioned, now I'm looking forward to attending the event even more. I think it will a great opportunity for a novice like me to find out more about the world of writing.

I have made a note on the post so that hopefully it won't be misleading.

I think it's great that you are organising this event here in Bryan, as apart from being close by, it will be a great boost to the area. I have no doubt that it is a tremendous amount of work trying to put together something like this so thank you for sticking with it and not abandoning ship! Rumor has it that there is expected to be a great turnout with some people traveling a long way to get here.

I'm really looking forward to meeting all you guys and to participating in the whole event. Thanks again for all your hard work!
