OK I admit it - I stole the headline. But where I stole it from might come as a bit of a shock. I stole it from the BBC. When even the BBC starts to question the validity of the greatest con ever perpetrated on mankind then you know there is a problem.

Last time I was guest hosting for Bud Hedinger on 540 WFLA, one of my guests was Phelim McAleer - an Irish film maker who's movie "Not Evil, Just Wrong" comes out this week (Remeber where you heard it first!!).

Now it would seem that the rest of the media has picked up on Phelim because he was an attendee at the Society of Environmental Journalists annual conference at the Madison Concourse Hotel in Madison, Wisconsin.

Someone made a big mistake! For the first time since the 2006 movie "An Inconvenient Truth" came out, Al Gore - the guest speaker - agreed to take some questions. Now while most of these were softball stuff, Phelim McAleer managed to get hold of the microphone. He asked Gore a question about the movie. He wanted a comment on the British Courts' decision that there were nine major factual errors in the movie. Gore responded that the movie was still being shown in British schools and then they cut off McAleer's microphone for the follow up question.

The Global Warming crowd have a problem. The earth has been cooling for 11 years. Some say it will cool for at least another 20. That's why they changed the name to "Climate Change" but if you allow them to own the language, they own the argument. That's why the BBC headline is so significant.

It is worth reading the following from the BBC Report: "According to research conducted by Professor Don Easterbrook from Western Washington University last November, the oceans and global temperatures are correlated.

The oceans, he says, have a cycle in which they warm and cool cyclically. The most important one is the Pacific decadal oscillation (PDO). For much of the 1980s and 1990s, it was in a positive cycle, that means warmer than average. And observations have revealed that global temperatures were warm too.

But in the last few years it has been losing its warmth and has recently started to cool down. These cycles in the past have lasted for nearly 30 years.

So could global temperatures follow? The global cooling from 1945 to 1977 coincided with one of these cold Pacific cycles.

Professor Easterbrook says: "The PDO cool mode has replaced the warm mode in the Pacific Ocean, virtually assuring us of about 30 years of global cooling."

It is also worth looking at the movie clip at the top of this blog and then going to the website - www.noteviljustwrong.com - and ordering your copy. I watched an advance of the movie last weekend and I'm not in the least bit shocked that Gore cut off McAleer's microphone.

But Simon Gore won a Nobel Prize so maybe its just that he is predicting Global Warming to come.

Good blog Simon, we must not ask pundits or quasi pundits harsh or probing questions, it just isn't nice.

I think Hugh is correct, it seems the Nobel Prize is now be awarded for future accomplishments.

Simon - I used to see Bud H on channel 9 in Orlando, seemed OK until he started editorializing.  Now he's where he should be, on an AM radio station no one ever listens to.

As for global warming, it seems un-American not to do our part to lessen this country's impact on global climate change whether you believe the science or not.  What's the worst that could happen, our children and grand children will inherit a cleaner planet?  That would be just horrible now wouldn't it Simon?

PS - I do hope you'll feature this cut and paste blog so your mutual admiration society has plenty of time to chime in and blast me as a liberal tree hugger, which I am not but that won't stop the attacks, I'm sure.

HUGH - The Nobel Prize has been devalued a lot. When I heard that for the first time in its history it had awarded the Economic prize to a woman, I was waiting for the name "Michelle Obama" to spring forth!!!

Bill - you are of course correct. That's why Gore has refused to debate the issue with anyone. I mean ANYONE AT ALL!

John - Cut and paste? Yes it is - It's a cut and paste from MY POLITICAL BLOG on 540wfla.com. I wrote it. It came from my head. Just want to make that clear. As for the rest you are incorrect about almost everything. 540 has Beck and Limbaugh for starters - the #1 and #3 most listened to shows in the country. Bud's numbers are also impressive. That's why it is an honor for me to sit in for him when he's away. I will be doing so again next week. As for the worst that could happen - a Bankrupt country and a worthless Dollar being left to our children and grandchildren over science that is simply WRONG

When I hear people talk about how bad global warming is because of all the things we are doing TODAY I always wonder what triggered the end of the Ice Age.  While I think recycling is important to conserve natural resources and not pollute the planet, I also think the world goes thru natural weather cycles that have nothing to do with whether I drive my car or not.  Thanks for the good post.

All i know is that my ice cubes just melted.  I believe in global warming.

Simon-I expect to see a resurrection of the 1975 Newsweek Coming Ice Age article, but instead of cooling it will be called climate change. As for the nobel prize, it appears that it is awarded for either potential (ala Obama) or for popularism (ala Gore). Certainly neither were awarded for reality. High's in the 50's here today, should be mid 70's.

Simon - like I said, no one listening, some honor.  Careful, when you lay with dogs you wake with fleas.  Oh, BTW, the bankrupt country is here already thanks to two wars started and continued deregulation the past 10 years and W's economic brain trust devalued the dollar, the current administration is doing all that is prudent to resurrect them both.

*laughing hard* - OF COURSE! It's all President Bush's fault. How can I be so dumb??

Mike - people choose to believe what they choose to believe. I have a problem when Congress votes for the largest tax Bill in the history of the planet which (a) they didn't actually read and (b) it is based on a huge lie.

Interesting post.  Seems John is not a fan of yours and has no respect for AM radio! Al Gore has used his pulpit to preach to the world but now there are many more empty seats.  You can can fool some of the people...

Gary - you're right, AM radio is a vast wasteland IMO.

Simon - those with such short memories must be reminded from time to time.  I never said it was all W's fault.  Do you dispute my observation or just trying to belittle and deflect?

1:12pm • #11

Simon,  It amazes me, well not so much anymore, that everything wrong with America is Bush's fault and if you don't think so, YOU are UN-American!!  AND the current administration is doing ALL they can to make things right again!

40's here in PA and supposed to be that way all week!!  I hope I don't need to turn on the heat!

Jane - I have no problem with recylcling if that's what people choose to do. But I do urge you to investigate. A lot of recycling actually does more harm to the planet.

Jeff - pour another drink. You'll be fine in the morning.

Mike - there is one scientist quoted extensively in the 1975 Newsweek piece that is now one of the biggest proponents of "warming". I urge you strongly to check out www.noteviljustwrong.com

Gary - Gore has also used it to make himself extremely wealthy. Capitalism in action. On that score I think he is a genius and I'm sure he laughs hard behind closed doors.

John S - President Bush let me down on two counts - spending and border security. He also faced something that no other President in US history had to face. If that was you on 9-11 then like him, I'm sure you're ONLY priority would have been to keep Americans safe on American soil. He did that and he will be remembered well by history for doing so. WHat has happened since January is the systematic destruction of the Dollar by the printing of money that makes President Bush's spending look like lunch money.

John H - Lows in the 50s this weekend in Florida - which will follow record highs this week.

Simon - apparently then you agree with my statements, thanks for clarifying.  As for W, he was warned, he dismissed the warnings and stumbled headlong into infamy through a long list of blunders both foreign and domestic, he'll be remembered alright but maybe not as the rewriters of history would hope.  You give him a pass due to 9/11, most people do not.

In the matter of the current administration, Obama inherited a terrible mess by anyones account, far worse than any president in recent history.  Two wars raging, national and global economies in ruins, climbing unemployment and a world polarized against the United States.  The domestic issues and the dire state of the global economy was handed to him alone to resolve and from where I stand, he is doing the best he can with the tools he has available.  I saw the stock market hit 10K today in fact, did you notice?  You gave W 8 years to get it right and he never did and even today you make excuses for him and yet you refuse to give Obama even 1 year in spite of the horrible hand he was dealt and accepted on January 20th.  I'm giving Obama a pass as is most of the nation.  At some point in the future that pass may be revoked but I, like most fair minded Americans, are willing to give the man his chance to succeed.

As for global warming, mid 90's here, in October!

Simon -  Phelim McAleer asked Al Gore does he still believe the polar bears are diminishing, and Gore's response was "Do you think they are endangered?" Phelim's response was there is positive proof they are increasing. Gore said again, "Do you think the polar bears are endangered?" Phelim states once again, "How could they be they are increasing."

All you heard next is "Cut the Mike! (MICROPHONE, THAT IS!)

Brilliant!

And still no one will hear it Simon.  Gee, if numbers are increasing does that mean they're not endangered, c'mon guys you're smarter than that.
