Getting the time to blog ... from Ocean City, New Jersey

I starting my "Active Rain" blog in December, 2009 ... so it has been ongoing for about 10 plus months.  If one would follow my initial postings, December through February were very busy months (for postings).  I then got into a type of rhythm managing to write a few each week over the next few months.  But with the active "spring buying period," I lost my rhythm for a time.  The same thing happened during part of the busy "summer rental time frame" too.  Now I find the same demands with the "fall buying period" which will run along until Thanksgiving.  And that will also complete my first year with Active Rain.

What have I learned?  Mostly, that most participants don't do enough postings; and most don't have any type of consistant approach to the process.  And I have been trying to organize my writing (postings) so that I have a type of schedule in place.  More about that later.

In spite of all of that, I have been "active enough on Active Rain" to make it to the "featured location" for both Ocean City and Cape May County.  I think the efforts and substance of my postings have been able to meet both the spirit and the expectations of Active Rain.  And I have picked up a number of interested readers who expect me to be more consistent than I have been.

However, the nature of real estate ... and the working schedule of a real estate agent ... does impact on doing the kind of writing that I have done in some of my postings, but not enough of them.  The really good postings have "original thinking, some humor, a short important message, and enough about the writer to bring a reader back.

Getting the time to blog from Ocean City, New Jersey is one of my ongoing goals for the rest of 2009, and a more important goal for 2010.  Stay tuned ...                                              dap
