I love Fall for so many reasons: the crisp, clean air, the colors, fires in the fireplace... and of course, Pumpkins!  My son Aidan brought a tiny pumpkin sprout home from Kindergarten at Brownsville school  last year and now it's a long vine with an actual pumpkin on it!  We are very excited!

This excitement will not cause us to forego our trips to several pumpkin patches, though.  We love exploring various ones for various reasons.  Here's a list of some of our favorites - I've listed the ones we've experienced personally first - Please share your good times !  AND, If you have additional favorite kid activities for Fall, PLEASE COMMENT and add on!  Cheers!

1. Hands-down our favorite:  The Pumpkin Walk at Bainbridge Gardens.  www.bainbridgegardens.com  Hurry and plan now.  It is Oct. 16 and Oct. 17 from 6 - 8p.m.  This is a fundraiser for the Bainbridge Island Boys and Girls club.  Not only do you get to peruse the nursery, but there is a trail in the dark, lit by hundreds of pumpkins, to venture through, as well as face painting, crafts, snacks & cocoa.  Admission is free but donations are gratefully accepted.

2.  Suyematsu and Bainbridge Island Farms   9229 Day Road E.  Bainbridge Island, WA 206-842-1429  My sons' Kindergarten classrooms went there... Lots of room to roam and choose your own plus a fun hay maze.

3. Hunter Farms 1921 E. State Route 106  Union, WA  www.hunter-farms.com  This is about an hour to 1 1/2 hours from Silverdale but a super family day trip.  Kids love sitting on hay bails, riding behind a big tractor out into the huge fields to pick a pumpkin.  Plus they have a large hay maze with slides to play on. Parents also enjoy the produce market attached that feature produce as well as locally made jams, sauces, crafts and more.
