What does the Dow hitting 10,000 mean to realtors?  Could this be a positive sign for buyers to gain confidence? Should be an exciting week for real estate.  Would love some feedback concerning how the housing market could respond.

Neena  - think the market will still be bouncing about a bit, but we're on our way to a slow recovery...

This is the 3rd time the Dow has reached the 10000 mark. the first 2 times unemployment was at or below 6%. It remains to be seen how it is sustainable in double digit unemployment.

Neena - Reaching 10,000 will create some confidence that the economy is rebounding, but those without jobs or homes probably won't notice. The economy has been artificially stimulated, and while it has caused some to predict a recovery, we've done little to create jobs. Fundamental problems remain with the economy, and at some point, the rising market won't be able to maintain its upward momentum.
