With parts of the country still recovering from the housing slump we in Sioux Falls are reaping the benefits of a steady to an increasing market. This year in the month of August sales were up 18.1 % over the same month in 2008. This is in part contributed to the First Time Home-buyer Tax credit, in the month of August 36% of the closings were first time home buyers. A couple of the reasons that we have sold so many homes is affordability of homes and the low interest rate, along with Sioux Falls being a great place to live, we have what you need and don't have what you don't need. We are a safe, growing city with jobs, shopping, culture, entertainment, affordable housing, great schools system, we walk on the streets after dark, visit with our neighbors, also hunting and fishing for the outdoors men. I have traveled all over the entire country and this still is the best place in my mind to call home.
