I love working with homebuyers. They are so excited when they find that perfect property that suits their wants, their needs and especially their budget.  When the home inspection and termite inspections have been completed and there are no major areas of concern, there is a sigh of relief.

The new buyer begins going through the house taking measurements and notes, placing furniture and getting those long honey do lists together.  There will be old wallpaper coming down to be replaced with a new fresh coat of paint. The old carpets will come up to replaced by wood floors and tile.

It's so exciting.  They lose sleep as they are considering how wonderful it will be to own their first home together.

It's such a treat to be a part of the process.

And while they are going through the process, buyers like to know that they have made the right choice, in the house they picked. Some get cold feet. Some second guess their choice.  Some never look back...and just move forward in eager anticipation.

And sometimes, just sometimes, buyers receive a "sign" that shows them that the house they picked was definitely meant for them.

Could this be a "Sign" That A House is Right for You?

There is a beautiful, sweet, friendly little kitty that has become the welcoming committee for the local neighborhood at a home that my buyer has under contract. Each time we arrive at the home, within minutes, this little kitty comes out of nowhere to greet us.  Her beautiful blue eyes are piercing!  She purrs and rubs against us while we are talking, as if to welcome us to the area.

My buyer absolutely LOVES animals.

She is especially fond of cats.

Could there be a "Sign" That A House is Right for You?

She told me today, 'See, this is my sign that I have definitely picked the right house. This little kitty loves me!"

This little kitty has put her mind at ease, as she feels that she now knows she had made the right decision in the home that she has chosen to buy.

Animals work in mysterious ways, don't they?

Have you ever had a "sign" that reinforced that a house was the perfect one for you or for your buyer?

I always tell my first time home buyers ..only because i truly believe this..that when they find the right house they will get a feeling inside .A feeling that says This is HOME..It may be the first ,,it may be the tenth but they will know when it is right..and they always do..Thanks

Yes, i think everyone knows when they have found the right house.  Its a gut feeling or a pull...I had a client once who ended up buying fixer upper because the kitchen cabinets were lined in the same shelf paper as her late grandmother.  She instantly felt at home regardless that there was alot of work to be done.

Hannah, I agree that buyers "know" the minute they walk through the front door whether a particular house is the one for them or not.  They just get that feeling in their gut, and it's all she wrote.

Interesting story about your buyer that purchased the home because the shelves were lined in the same paper as her late grandmother.  I had a buyer that purchased a home because he found out that the seller grew up in the same home town that he did, and they knew alot of the same people growing up.

Sandy, people get signs of course but we're not always privy to that signal until maybe years later.  One customer told me she had bought a particular home because a cardinal had perched itself near the front door when we looked at the home and stayed throughout the showing.  Her belief was that this was a reincarnation of her Dad demonstrating his approval.

Hi Kevin, I agree that sometimes we don't hear about those signals until years later. I love the story!  Amazing!  And, that cardinal probably was her father watching over her.  Great story!

Hi Sandy, How much did you pay the cat? LOL!!

There is a special feeling they get when they find the right place.  I have had bluebirds fly by and land in nearby trees,, and deer walk through a meadow right on cue ...but that didn't seem to grab the buyer's attention enough to buy, I guess that special feeling was missing.

Hi Sandy,

Nice story!  Beautiful cat too!  The house was just meant to be for your client!  Is the cat a stray?  Your client may end up with a new pet too!  Thanks for sharing!  Congratulations on finding your buyer the right home!
