Going From Good To Great Just Requires More Imagination

Tin Man In listening to others with their goal setting I see some with timid goals and some with bold goals. Levels of production for Realtors, running that half marathon this year, losing just a few pounds this month. I favor the bold, "stretch" goals because when you achieve them you really surprise most of all YOURSELF.

And on top of that a little fearlessness too. Stretch your thinking in what you are trying to do a bit. It really is just a matter of time if you stick with planning and working toward a goal.

There really is something to that phrase GO FOR IT!! Think BIG. Dream BIG!

If you can think it in your head, you can accomplish it. Those seeds are not able to be planted without your ability to accomplish something. Just have confidence in yourself first and foremost. It is really true you can do anything if you put your mind to it. It's not a question like the Tin Man, if you only had a brain. You have one, just use it, and expand it as far as you can imagine. Dreams really do come true!!

Gary: That positive visualization of what you want to happen is a roadmap to start the journey. Can't get where you're going without if youdon't know the destination when you arrive.

I've always loved a challenge... from childhood. So when someone says to me "you can't do that", it's on, I'm out to prove I can. I think it was because in my neigborhood when I was a kid, I was the runt of the litter, younger, smaller and filled with determination. I've been knocked of the path and even changed direction a few times. But I've always believed I could accomplish anything I set my mind out to accomplish.

There is sometimes a fine line between goo and great. Not many can tell the differnece when looking at themselves!

What a really cute picture! And a great motivating post. In my experience, those who have tried to discourage me (consciously or subconsciously) have been scared to step out of their own little boxes. Not me.

If you want to be it, you have to believe it! I try to instill that in my children. Thank you for the inspiring post Gary! I think I can...I think I can...yes, I can!

Love that photo, I've said the before, you always use the best around.

Your topic has long been an issue for me personally, remaining in my own personal comfort zone far too long. Not stretching nearly enough most of the time, allows my comfort zone to become a rut. Guess that's sort of where I am right now.

Gary, I spend the first 45 minutes every day visuallizing what I want to acheive. I started this practice about a year ago and it has changed my life. Think it, visualize it and go for it. It works.

Gary - Love the photo - It makes me think of the movie - The Wizard of Oz - and of course, the tin man is my favorite.

Speaking of the tin man and heart, makes me think of something I heard today about courage. Wasn't it the lion who was looking for courage?

Courage comes from yourself. Only you can open the door and let it out. I can not do it for you. Swallow hard and be brave.

For as much as I dislike 'positive' posts, I have to agree that if you do not see yourself at some hight, or point, you are not going to be their. Things happen in small installments, and one can fall from the blue, but for all of them to line iup simply falling from the blue? Not happening

Gary, I am one of those who absolutely agrees with you ideas in both concept and action. And though I do have a healthy streak of cynicism, I am often almost the person who gets up on the right side of the bed most days!

You are right dreams do come true with some planning and imagination! Making that business plan every year..just increase the number of units you desire to match the desire income..just more calls and contacting each quarter and voile your where you want to be: taking that trip you want, seeing family members who live away, building that home or socking away that $ for retirement or whatever! Love that darling little tin man.Great message as always!

When I have doubts, I remember this. It's hard to have both of these emotions at the same time. What is the worst that can happen? I'll fall on my face...not if I know otherwise!!!

I LOVE this, post. I learned this past year how right you are -- dreams DO come true. You just have to have FAITH. It is so hard sometimes, but holding on to that hope and faith will lead you in the right direction to achieving anything you want.

Gary - It really does not have to take a ton of extra effort to be great, if you are already good at what you do. I think you just need to have that extra focus and desire to achieve it. Good motivational post.

Gary: I believe it setting very audacious goals and going all out to attain them, but still making time for family and myself.
