Austin TX Wildlife in and around new home communities is always interesting to see.

Here is my newest find on our back steps.  There are two, but I couldn't get the other one in a good pose.

As you can see, compared to the penny, these are tiny little guys.  So cute.  Alyssa and I were poking them with blades of grass to make them hop.  Each time, Alyssa would say, "Ribbit ribbit."

Here are some of the other Austin TX Wildlife creatures I've found in and around my home.

Donna, It is amazing how small they are and thanks for sharing that!

Donna, That was a great idea to put the penny next to the frog so that we could truly see how tiny they are.  Thanks for sharing with us.

Those are tiny little guys!  My boys would not let them live, they're too rough.  They're always catching frogs around our yard.  I think the frogs try to get away as soon as they see them coming!

Sincerely,

Kathleen

How did you even see these little guys, Donna?  Not only are they tiny, but they kinda blend into the background.  Amazing!

Donna we have seen those and we call them tree frogs, They are always down by the lake. I hate to say but the fishermen use them for bait.

Hi Donna ~ That is amazing! And adorable.  He's the size of a spider - but much sweeter.

Donna, that is the smallest frog that I have ever seen, it does not look to be any bigger than Lincoln's head on the penny.

Hi Donna... you should call Mutual of Omaha, because you have a Wild Kingdom going on around your house for sure.

Where the heck are the precious tree roaches? They're so sweet when they fly! Awwww, so cute. I have one that rests on my cheek when I sleep. Her tentacles feel lovely as they sweep across my eye lids at night. I'm getting goose bumps thinking just thinking about it.

Wanda, Yes, they were tiny.

Gary, Thank you!

Kathleen, Alyssa doesn't know about torturing bugs yet.

Lina, I sat on the steps and noticed this spot of "mud" move.

Heather, I almost sat on one.

C & C, My house is not a tree... I think they live under those two steps off my back patio. The mommy toad has been around several times.

Ken, I DID freak out!  Found one a couple of weeks ago in my office!!

Liz, Did you see the post on the tarantula??  He's 1/50th of the size of a "spider".

George, They'll grow into big ugly ones my dog likes to play with.

Steve, No joke!

Chris, Thank you.

Greg, Ummm, NO!  Those aren't even "pretty" in any kind of light! I've had one crawl across my face when I slept before.  It was SOOOOO gross!

Donna -- Cute photo!  I saw a few of those tiny little fellows around my pool and lanai this summer but never would have thought to have them pose next to a penny for a size comparison.  Very creative on your part!

Hi Donna - What a cute tiny little guy!  I couldn't resist pulling out a penny to get an even better idea of just how tiny, and it is amazing that you spotted them!

Judy, Thanks!

Susan, Tiny, huh?!

John, Nothing is on purpose. They're all making my back patio their own little home.  They're coming to me!

Jim, I aim to please!
