Feng Shui New York Consultants....in Rhode Island

Who doesn't love a Road Trip?  Two New York Feng Shui Consultants on their way to Provincetown MA, Laura and I filled the car with everything we thought we might need for a week-including good music.

From Long Island New York to Provincetown can take about 10 hours.  We decided to spend one night in lovely Rhode Island before continuing on to ProvincetownAlthough it was getting later, we stopped in Newport, Rhode Island to see take the drive along Bellevue Avenue and then into the Town of Newport itself.

I am familiar with most of Rhode Island.  My parents had owned summer cottages there for many years and I'd been up so often, I'd had time to explore the beautiful State.  Our cottages were in Bristol, Rhode Island and at night you could see the lights on the water almost sparkle from Fall River across the water.

I promised Laura we'd return to Newport next year so she could see it (and take Cliff Walk) herself.  Although our cottages have long since been knocked down and now hold "mega mansions" I almost felt I could still see them.  They were located on the water and have since become prime property.  Some of the charm was gone from the town because it is now so built up except for one very old favorite.  My all time favorite restaurant.

Tweets Restaurant remains.  If you like to eat, you would LOVE "Tweets" and it's been there so many years it's a landmark in Bristol Rhode Island.  After a wonderful dinner (and a few snapshots to bring to my mother), we checked into our room.

Tomorrow we would be up on Cape Cod and arrive in Provincetown.........

Hi Carole,

Tweets sounds just like a place we would like to try, shouldn't but probably would.

Carole -- glad that Tweets has survived the passage of time.  Looks like it was before it's time... now everyone is in a twitter over tweets.

Does Tweets Twitter?  HAHA I just couldn't resist!  I LOVE road trips and I was thinking the Finley family might take a drive up along the Blue Ridge in the next week.  Thanks for sharing your journey!

Great to go back but sometimes we are disappointed at what has happened.  Glad the restaurant was still there and still the same.  It is funny but I measure every seaside town by my early memories of the Jersey Shore.  I like the town more if it has the old shore feel to it.

Sounds like a great trip, and it sounds like a great restaurant to eat at ... as long as you're not eating fowl.  Tweetie probably wouldn't like that. :)

Cape Cod is a place I've always wanted to visit ... maybe one day...

Carole,

Sounds so idyllic....it must have been a wonderful place to go to as a child and I can just imagine all of the warm and happy memories you must have.

I'm so glad you and Laura had a chance to go back there and that TWEETS is still around....

Al & Peggy, It was SO good...and so nice to be back in Rhode Island.

Sharon, You're very welcome.  If you're ever up in Rhode Island you'll know where to eat :)

Steve, You're so right, I was so happy to see it!  Nothing else looked the same in that little town.

Colleen, I didn't take a road trip last year and I missed it SO much.  I decided that won't happen again.

Debbie, That's so funny, I never looked it up...or even thought about it.  I'll have to check it out--you never know!

Joan, How could that not have crossed my mind?  Gee, they certainly WERE ahead of their time!

Leesa, GO.  Don't think about it too long or something will come up--just pack and GO :)!

Paddy, There was nothing else about this lovely little town that was the same and it made me sad.  I loved our cottages with lots and lots of LAND.  The land is gone and giant houses fill it all :(

Sylvie, I'm getting a cottage next year and you're welcome.  The Cape is beautiful and very, VERY special....you would love it.  You can get into the Energy there or enjoy some solitude.

Hannah, I have missed being back to some wonderful places that I used to love.  I can't say how happy I am that I went finally.

Hi Carole,

Hope you enjoyed the Fall foliage, it's gorgeous up here with a variety of colours...

You're only a few hours from Saint John, NB, Canada...  Come visit this Bethpage, Long Islander or  ex-New Yorker here in Canada!  I'll be in Staten Island, NY this Christmas!   ;>))

Hi Carole,

How neat to have spent so much time in Rhode Island!  Have you been to "The Breakers"?  If so, what thoughts did you have about how it was furnished?  Does your mind automatically go into "Here is what I would recommend. . . " mode when you walk into other places?  (I am making the assumption that is is open to the public like the Biltmore down in North Carolina.  Please correct me if I am wrong, for I have never been there.)  Thanks for re-posting this or I would have missed it.

Tweets would be a great place to hold a Tweetup - I wonder if they're onto that yet.  It could be huge for them.

Carole - It can be such a disappointment when you return to a favorite place from your childhood just to find out things had changed so much that you hardly recognize anything.  In your cause you must have been  thrilled to see Tweets.

Ann Marie, I didn't know you were from Bethpage.  Goodness, I'm in the next town Farmingdale.  I would love to see you when you come to New York, please let me know if you have time!

Hi Bruce, Most of the Mansions are open to the Public and I have been to them all many times.  I am so caught up in the history, my mind is not on Feng Shui usually. They are astounding "Summer Cottages" that you should try to visit one day.

Georgina, It's not a bad idea at all!  I bet it hasn't crossed their mind any more then it had crossed mine :)

Jennifer, It was sad to see the cottages replaced by the Mega Mansions....I was thrilled to find this place is still the same with wonderful food!
