Georgia's Foreclosure Filings Up 25% in Third Quarter 2009

By
Real Estate Agent with Long & Foster 0225078705

Georgia had 33,385 foreclosure filings in the 3Q of 2009.  These foreclosure filings were default notices, scheduled auctions and bank repossessions - a 25% jump over the 3Q of 2008.  This was also a 6.7 percent rise over the 2Q of 2009. In the state of Georgia this was equivalent to one foreclosure filing for every 119 households.  A 10.1% unemployment rate in the state of Georgia, and a lack of job creation will not help near future term picture on Georgia's foreclosure rate

Russ Ravary - Michigan Homes for sale - Michigan Real estate & Mortgage info (Remerica Hometown One)  In some ways we are right behind Michigan.  The only places that are worse than GA for homes upside down is Michigan, and Nevada.  We are #3 in the nation for negative equity.
