My owner is a home inspector in San Diego.I was downtown a couple of days ago taking a walk along the San Diego Harbor after a high-rise condo inspection.

In addition to finding Alfred Hitchcock's birds, I noticed that a new set of public art has been installed along the harbor, and while I got lots of pictures of the new public art, those pictures are not appropriate for a morning with Mother and Father Nature.

However, I did see a very beautiful bow ornament on one of the boats:

It reminded me of some of the huge hood ornaments on those cars from the late '60s and early '70s, but then it rotated:

How cool is that? A rotating bow ornament! But wait! There's more!

It started flapping its wings!

It's amazing what those little computer chips can do nowadays, from smart phones to itty bitty televisions to smart homes to very realistic brown pelican bow ornaments on boats. Gosh, they are so real that they just might fly away.

Bye, bye birdie!

Bye, bye birdie!

Now they need a turtle.... Easier to catch and for sure can't fly. Have a great weekend.

Hey, Brian - I guess I better try to do a better job of writing my headlines then -- LOL.

Hey, Carl and Ceil - Thanks for the kind words. I love it when my photography subjects show off for me. I reported UGGS to the ActiveRain spam authorities. Mine is not the only blog that Uggs visited this morning. I do think Uggs is an appropriate name for a spammer -- LOL.

Hey, Terry - You don't think the turtle would swim away, though? And you put a turtle in the water, and they are not as easy to catch as one would think they are.

Russel - very cool! I love pelicans. When I used to go scuba diving in Florida they were always waiting for the boats (I mean fish) to return to the docks. ~Rita

That's too funny. Another five years, maybe less, and it probably will be true.
