Last evening and through the early morning hours, Mother Nature    did it's est to keep us awake.Don't get me wrong, I love a nice thunder storm, BUT the damage has been very costly. The biggest is from large branches falling on vehicles and homes.Nothing like a tornado, but still an issue for some.I need a nice rain to soak up the ground.Looks lke that is what we will have later today. Keep safe everyone!Happy Father's Day!

Summer is barely in full swing and the stores are talking back to school. It is like Christmas...Some stores are already getting supplies in for that. It just seems we are pushing the envelope a bit.  I no spring chicken and would love to enjoy the seasons as they come. But...that is today's society.  all I can say is...   LET IT SNOW!!!!

That is all we have heard from the weather people the last week. Today, we set a Record cold HIGH Temp. I know you are thinking SNOW. No, it was a nice 65 degrees today.  Just a bit of relief from the humid weather we have had. So, if you were thinking of traveling to Minnesota but now are having 2nd thoughts...Don't! The temps are heading up and will be warm enough to swim in one of our 10,000 lakes.

Much of the Nations is under a cold spell. When it is colder than normal, Warm destination are usually in order or at least talked about. So, we book our flight and head for the warm sunny beaches where, because of our skin not being ready for the suns rays...we start to look like this... And even this one.

A friend had hired a guy to cut down some large trees close to a building. He was some fly-by-night operator. One fo the trees he cut down fell the wrong way and destroyed the building. The tree should have been roped for safety. The guy said he needed some additional tools to get the tree off the shed and get it covered. Color him GONE!!!! The guy never came back. My friend is about 85.  Trusts everyone.  I am sure this guy had no insurance. But he was cheap!!! No photo because my friend felt bad enough with out me doing that.

One of the big issues with a drought is that we forget about our trees. Yes, if you planted within a couple of years you may be out there with the hose. That is great, but even larger trees may need a drink also. I lost a very nice Maple Tree last year during the drought.  I was taking care of the smaller trees but didn't get to the Maple.   This spring there were no leaves.. It takes a lot of water and the best way is to put the hose about two feet from the trunk and let the water trickle out ALL NIGHT!!! It may take several nights for some trees but you need to get them some water. Also, if the soil is dry, the frost in the northern climes will go very deep also causing the death of a tree. Without some water now, your trees won't look so nice come nest spring.

Have you noticed old sayings and advice are just as valid today as they were back in the year. Here are a few from Will Rogers... 1)Never slap a man who is chewing tobacco. 2)Never kick a cow chip on a hot day.   (Learned that one the hard way) 3)Never miss a good chance to shut up. 4) Always drink upstream from the heard. and my favorite... 5) There are two theories to arguing with a woman...Neither works!!!! Yes Will Rogers was a very smart man|!

WE went into last winter in a severe drought. People were wondering what the spring would bring for the farmers.  Well, it was very very wet.  Many thousands of acres of crops didn't get planted, but we were now out of the drought. Now, we are drying out again.  The crops are now close to where they really need the rain and the storms we were to get tonight, have passed us by. So, tomorrow I will water my garden and hope we see some rain in the near future. It wasjust a nice night.  Just me and my wife and 10,000,000 mosquito's.

I have always said I had a fear of this happening in a wide scale. Well, it has happened on a small scale.   I broke my new Smart phone. (Not very smart)  This happened early Sunday and I was out of town. I stopped in and got a replacement and will have it in 2 days.  2 DAYS!!!! I am lost for now I need to stay close to the office for any calls.  Usually I just have them forwarded to my cell and I can go most anywhere at anytime. I am so lost right now.  I must move forward....but ever so slowly.  I don't want to end up in a worse jam than I am in now! Now this is my style!!!

With the late spring finally here, it is time to get the 'Home' work caught up. My wife and I were sorta running around doing things but not really making any headway. Finally we stopped. We made a list and ranked it as to the importance. Now, we are still working as hard but we are seeing the results that we needed to see. Organization wind again! The flowering crab is just starting to bud so about two weeks it will look like this.

With several new clients ready to go I am searching for acceptable properties in a wider area.  Why? Because, the more I look the less there is.  What was there yesterday is now in Pending today. Good news!  Right?   Yes in some ways, but I see a market that will be full of multiple offers and needing to be above the list price or you may as well stay home. Those looking for a new home need to realize it may not happen as fast as you want.  Time to start your process is NOW! Snow may be deep today, but once it melts down...everyone will be looking at the same houses you want to.

Talking with a friend, his daughter will have $45,000 in student loans this year when she graduates.  He was complaining about the high cost and I will say it does cost a lot. But, what he doesn't know is that his daughter has gone to spring break every year and used loan money to pay for it.  The least amount that she has spent for spring break is $3500.  THAT IS THE LEAST!! Now, I am not saying that they should not have some fun...bet let's be real.  As an adult, I don't spend $3500 or more on a vacation where I have to put it all on credit. I have heard of some people saying that many of the loans should be forgiven.  I don't agree at all.  But there are some ways to cut down on debt at graduation. One is when a student gets a loan...they don't get the money!  They get a card, like a...

Yes at least in Minnesota, hospitalizations are down dramatically. Now, that being said, it doesn't mean we should be stupid and abandon all the safety practices we have put in place. There are a lot of viruses and other problems that good hygiene can help prevent, so when you local media stations tells you things are better...stay vigilant. It is in all of our best interests.

The best deal you get on a home this year may be RIGHT NOW! Some reports of interest creeping higher as seeping in.  There are fewer homes on the market and that means higher prices.  Sales will be brisk in the spring and multiple offers will be common. The foreclosure rates are much lower so occupied homes are now more of the norm. If your plan is to buy this year...Think about doing it now.  You may save a bundle over waiting till spring. If you are looking to sell...We have plenty of buyers looking right now.  Yes, you may get a bit more in the spring, but you will pay more for that home you want to buy also. Don't over look the option of building. Prices are going up making building a feasible thing again.

Talking with my Post Master yesterday, he said that there is a lot of time to get Santa a letter with what you may want for Christmas. Even if you know of someone who is in need, the letters will get to where they need to be, BUT, don't wait to much longer for Santa's days are running short. For this Christmas Season, remember to acknowledge a child.  A hug or just a pat on the back can make the day of any age child!

It is the end of another weekend and time for a chuckle or two.  Hope everyone has a great week! A Sunday school teacher was telling her young class a story about the good samaritan... Class, what would you do if you came upon a person hurt and bleeding on the side of the road.   There was a hush in the class when a little girl spoke up...I think I would throw up! A minister's daughter asked her dad a question...Dad, why do you bow your head quietly before you give your sermon on Sunday's? He replied...Because I am asking God to help me preach a good Sermon. The girl then said...How come he doesn't answer it? The Priest says to little Johnny...So your mom says your prayers every night?  That is very commendable.  What does she say? Johnny replied...Thank GOD he's in Bed! Again everyone....

I was talking with a friend that volunteers at the local food bank. He was telling me that they are always in need, but are way behind for this time of the year and the major holidays are coming up. Food is always welcome, but it is the other things that are also needed.  Soaps, hand and laundry are the shortest items. Dry animal foods....Dog and cat. Baby diapers and formula's. Toothpaste and deodorants. If you use it...others need it also. If you are not sure what is needed, stop by and ask and or donate money.  Cash is an easy way for the banks to be able to fulfill an immediate need.
