Talk about a great hobby, and talk about a great place to practice it - Grants Pass, Oregon. 

Flying Radio Controlled Jet Planes requires a lot better weather to practice this hobby in than you find in a lot of the country, but here, in Southern Oregon we have the most ideal flying conditions.  There are so many sunshiny days, and even our winters are perfect for outdoor activities.

It wasn't that many years ago that remote controlled planes were all just limited to small gas engines and propellers.  Now these Radio Controlled Jet Planes are equipped with jet engines.  This hobby has really blossomed in a few short years.  And if you're going to get into it, I would recommend CamLex Enterprises.

CamLex is a portland company who is a distributor for Jet-1A as well as many other products.  They run a small but very personalized business, and they can even have a plane custom painted to your specifications.  I just spoke to them a few days ago for a friend of mine, and they were working on an order that they had just received for two $5,000 jets.  I had no idea that they were that costly, but I guess they have them in all price ranges.  You can start around $1,350 and go all the way up to $5,000 depending on how many extras you add.

You can customize the Radio Controlled Jet Planes right down to the color of the pilot's hair and the clothing he is wearing.

CamLex also handles JetCat jet engines, which friends tell me are of tremendous quality.  I am familiar with CamLex's standings among the industry and they are triple A rated and highly respected for their customer service and integrity.

There are many places in Southern Oregon that are used by the various Radio Controlled Jet Plane flying clubs. One that comes to mind is the Rogue Valley R/C club in Grants Pass.  Give them a call and they can acquaint you with all they have to offer.
