Joe says,

We're tough and we can take it. We don't care if it's still October, or maybe we do,  Bring it on!  we're tough. I've got the snow tires on, the snowblowers purrrin, the shovels ready to go, and salt for the walkway, or not.

Bring it on!

Joe's wife looks at him with a touch of sadness in her eyes and says, "but honey it's only October and I don't like snow that much."

I can't help but wonder how many of those soon to be freezing and snowbound are card carrying members of the;

Coulda, Shoulda Club!

Check out the blog by the same name written previously for details.

So what cha gonna do?

Just let me mention briefly that we still have a strong supply of reasonably priced homes right here in Southwest Florida, and personally I'm not afraid to man up and agree with Joe's wife.

You could be swimming in the pool, fishing in the Gulf, hittin some balls on the course, or what ever else you like to do in the sunny,  WARM  weather.

Ya, ya, I know you're tough, blah, blah, blah,  but,  we're warm and smiling.

Let me ask a question.

Have you ever seen someone shoveling snow and smiling and/or whistling at the same time?

Me neither, I wonder why not.

Okay, I have to admit that a cold front is passing through, wiping out the humidity, and that it will probably only be in the mid 70's today and tomorrow, but here's what the local rag forcasts for the rest of next week;

Monday   78   Tuesday   84   Wednesday   85   Thursday   85   Friday   85

I left out the part about it being sunny, didn't I?

Life is full of choices, I've made mine, and maybe yours is;

Snow Ya! Bring it on!

Cute post, Jay. Good marketing, too. I lived in Maine for 15 years and Vermont for 10 so I know all about snow shovels, windshield scrapers, snowblowers etc. etc. When snow starts this early, it makes you think of what a loooong winter it will be. This might push people over the edge who have just been entertaining the idea of moving south!

Wash your mouth out with sidewalk salt...you can talk smart...you're where it never does that ! There are snow angels...and frosty....and fur coats...there are some benefits to the frozen tundra up here....we'll send it down your way soon !

Winter is fun and if you are cold, you are just not dressed right. We don't hibernate in Maine..we get out and play in the snow.  Did see an indoor ice skating rink in Clearwater Florida's Countryside shopping mall off 19 though...but probably not much downhill or cross country snow skiing going on there right?

Hi Jay...Florida's a great place to visit.....a wonderful "get away"....however, I'll take 3' of snow over being hit with multiple hurricanes.....we get hurricanes in Ma. but our winds are like a breezy day in Florida....hope to "visit" there soon.

Leslie,

one of the worst things i ever had to endure was black ice, even my four wheel dive f250 would just slide sideways and go where it wanted to.

nasty stuff.

Sally & David,

i really like the initial comment, that's a good one!

here i sit, quite warm, with the air conditioning on, actually.

howvever, I was born and raised in the great state of New Hampshire, UNH class of 78, so I know all about the beauty of the first snow, but right now i could be happy if you'd just post some pictures.

Andrew,

i was born in NH and summered in maine, and you and i both know that no matter how well you dress, i love LL Bean, sometimes the cold just goes right through you and gets into your bones.

Barbara,

what hurricanes?

i moved to south ft. myers in 1992, i followed the red sox, we've had two hits. three i believe in the last 100 yeras.

i know, from personal experience that those ice storms are really kinda nasty.

stay warm and safe.

This is too funny, we can only wonder what people of the snow country go through.
