Katerina Gasset introduced me to these 2 concepts since our friendship began: Law of Abundance and Law of Attraction. While I don't disagree with it, I have never practise it in my life. I've always wrote them away with "It's REALITY that I'm dealing with". Try telling a real estate agent who knows that there will always be 10% turnover in a neighborhood of 1000 homes. No matter what you do, there will always be 100 homes for sale in that neighborhood. Try convincing me whether another agent comes into the picture or not, there would still be 10% turnover - whether I believed in Law of Abundance or not.
In fact, Katerina was right. I just didn't want to admit it. I noticed that everything that comes out of my mouth does have NEGATIVITY tone in it. "I don't want to spend money I don't have". To me, that was good money managing skills that I've always pride myself on. [Now becareful about what I'm about to share with you. I'm only speaking from my experience. Yours may be entirely different.]
When October rolled around, I began planning for 2010. I will probably close out 2009 as the best year in my real estate career, but I'm already planning for 2010 to beat my 2009. I began researching and I prayed for a direction. I even contacted Katerina about some Expired Coaching. I found out that that's not the direction I needed to go.
What I needed to do was first to change my mindset about alot of things before I will have yet another spectacular year - 2010.
Kathy Eppley called me and we've had 4 very long and heart-to-heart conversations thus far. Kathy reintroduced to the Law of Abundance and Law of Attraction concepts. This time, since I looked for a change to be better, I decided to learn these new concepts. In only 2 weeks, I've already experienced the new ME with my new beliefs and new ENERGY.
Learning these new lessons do not come easy. But Kathy had told me that these new concepts will be learnt in a process (ie journey). Be prepared to hit a set back once a while. But each time I hit a set back, just shake myself off and stand up again. Set backs are very much a part of the PROCESS. I need to continue to remind myself of that. In these 2 weeks, as much as I have felt the renewed "Me", I've also hit 2 setbacks. But I rebuke each of them. You too should be prepared for the set backs to come your way, but it's just a part of the game.
Tony Robbins said this, In order to live an extraordinary life, you must have an extraordinary physcology. To have an extraordinary physcology, you have to live in an extraordinary state. To live in that extraordinary state, you must condition your mind to be the best.
I'm not sure if it makes sense to you but I prayed for an answer. I asked for wisdom and guidance. I was looking for a program that will take me soaring through the roof. Sometimes, life's too funny when you ask for A, you get B.
God asked me to change my mindset first. Believing in myself and the gifts, talents and skills He has entrusted me with. Once I do that, there would be no stopping me.
That's what I did. Instead of signing up for another seminar/ workshop, I signed up with a coach who will teach me about some renewed mindset I need to have.
It may come natural to you but it didn't too me. I grew up with a mindset I'm never going to be good enough. I have lots of limiting beliefs about myself. I am my biggest stumbling block. So these days, I'm spending my time in re-writing my own stories and my own beliefs about my own abilities.
I'm perfectly entitled to have a life full of abundance. And so are you.

As a result of my renewed beliefs, 2 more clients called me this week, my client who lost their buyer in the sale of their home received another contract. Not only are my clients able to move on, I am able to add another 5-figure income to my 2009 simply by applying the Law of Attraction and Law of Abundance in my life. Whether you want to believe it or not, it's entirely up to you.

Loreena - Wow ! Rock on !!! I learned a long time ago "You become what you think about" . It was on a tape I believe by Earl Nightingale that helped me be a success as a stockbroker in sales. I totally agree that getting to the next level is not about that new designation or seminar, but about MINDSET, ATTITUDE and BELIEFS. Loreena, good post. Guess we are lucky as we have always been positive people. We believe you can't go wrong following these two laws and Tony puts it into perspective.

Loreena, I believe we create what's around us the stuff we love and the stuff we can't figure out what it's doing there. It sounds like you've taken the first steps on the road to incredible journeys. We don't always get what we want but we do get what we need.
Tis amazing to me to see so many agents ignoring what has not changed in real estate. Everyone wants the magic snake oil to bring them business. It's pretty simple if an agent can understand the numbers, focus, and work it. Other than the new home business, this is not retail. I use the 1000 home theory to all of our agents. I start them at about 250 and move up thereafter. No magic pills, just hard work and focusing. I have another agent that is still wondering why no one calls him. Hmmm; perhaps he has it backwards.

I completely agree with you Loreena on abundance. I have ALWAYS had a problem with the Secret and the Law of Attraction. It on the surface appears worthy of consideration. Personally I have never liked the term Law applied to it vs. Principle. Then there is something unseemly about a whole cottage industry of books/tapes/CDs/coaches all built up around it like a cult. We plant seeds and nurture but there is no "GUARANTEE" they will grow to be Redwoods. Oftentimes life gets in the way. God laughs at our plans. Trust in God is MUCH more powerful than any Law of Attraction.
Good call on communicating more with Kathy. I think her class was very helpful and I'm sure she could share some other helpful tips if you continue your conversations/meetings with her.
Hmm. I'm not sure if I'm really grasping the meat of your post, but I assume this has something to do with your interest in my personal brochure? Also, I think we all have to be careful not to end up with "stinking thinking" (my pastors' term for it) It can be so easily disguised. I now I have a LOT of things I need to change in my belief system. God's been cleaning house with me lately =/

Loreena- You go girl! God wants us to be the best we can be, after all, he is our father and we are his children. The law of attraction is a true Christian principle for it is God that made all the laws of the universe. The law of abundance is also one of those laws. Sorry I was so frank and to the point, sometimes that is what we need when we ask a question and may not be ready for the answer. Thanks for sharing our story, another one in our long list of conversations:) Missy has it right on with the scriptures. Actually the book, As A Man Thinketh written by James Allen was based on the scripture of the same. It sits next to my bible. Another great scripture is in Mathew7:7, "Ask and it shall be given, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you." Katerina
Excellent post, Loreena. Over the past year, I've been working on changing my thought process, getting rid of limiting beliefs, and knowing I can achieve whatever goals I set for myself -- personally and professionally. It has been quite the journey, and the work continues. But I am so much better off today than I was a year ago. The best to you!
Tony Robbins puts out some good stuff. So do a lot of other presenters. Its what you do with it between your ears that counts.

Its very difficult to identify the beliefs that you hold that are holding you back. I struggle with that quite a bit, but believe my attitude controls my success, or as the saying goes, altitude.
I posted a composite of several movie outtakes that are very inspiring that address this idea of beliefs. And one of the responses was "So what? Its just a bunch of movie clips".
