The Red River Rivalry--What a Game!

I really try to not get political--and believe me--in this area of Texas--Football is definitely political.   No one, however can dispute how hard each side fought--Oklahoma and Texas.  The Texas coach-Mack Brown, is always so gracious and supportive of his kids.  He always seems to remember just that--they are kids.  (Goddness knows they look younger to me every year!)  I think Mack Brown is a class act.

Texas A&M is not only political in this area---it's a religion.  Our house is dark red A&M brick, selected by the couple who built it as A&M Brick.  There are so many A&M red cars around here too.

College sports is such a wonderful expression of competition and teach our young people discipline, empower them with a sense of accomplishment and teach them innumerable life lessons.  I know there may be arguments to the contrary, but no one can dispute that when young people are involved in an activity that they enjoy, helps them to grow, and provides a support system, sometimes absent at home, is a positive thing.

I have served as an Assistant Professor of Music and as a High School Choral Director.  It always amazed me how hard kids would be willing to work toward a goal when they were "bought in" and really believed in what they were doing.  It's a beautiful thing to see that light in a young person's eye.  It was an honor.  I still miss my kids and hope they are always in love with music and go forward with all the lessons that music, competition and old fashioned hard work provided.

Mari:  Yeah, sure.  The Texas, OU football game... sure... it's just a "friendly rivalry."  Unless, that is, unless you live in either Texas... or Oklahoma... LOL.

Karen Anne,  Yeah, that's true.  I think it's fun.  We recorded it and just finished watching it about 30 minutes ago.

It took Texas a little while to get going today, but they got it done. Now they'll face a couple of tough road games. And true fans on both sides are hoping that Bradford's injury won't end his college career.

I don't follow college football, but I know that you Texans like a good fight!  I hope that you don't mind, but I took a look at your website, it's real nice.

I don't live in Texas or Oklahoma, but i understand the spirit of competition is serious between those two schools. Here in Tennessee, they  just a few pushovers like Alabama and Florida.

John--That play when Bradford got sacked was so tough to look at-I had to turn away.  It was a clean sack.  Seeing hime go out was such a shame.

Gregg--You got that right-Texans put up a he__ of a fight.  Thx for taking a look-I appreciate your comments

Terry--Sounds like YOU were up past your're bedtime--You are such a night owl!

Hey Larry--Yeah Florida (2) and Alabama (1) and their "deep red water event connected to the phases of the moon" are real pushovers--good one!
