My wise old grandmother loved four-letter words and believed that they were the foundation of a successful business.

In fact, she believed that four-letter words were the foundation of our very existence.

She had her favorite four-letter words, which I will share with you today:

1. LIFE - Without LIFE, what is there?
2. LOVE - What is LIFE without someone to LOVE and someone to LOVE you?
3. LIVE - You have LIFE and LOVE - now LIVE!
4. WORK - You have to WORK in order to LIVE and LOVE, so find a career, which might require many jobs along the way to finding that career.
5. HELP - Throughout LIFE, you'll have the opportunity to HELP.
6. FREE - If you LOVE LIFE and LOVE to provide FREE HELP, you'll go far in LIFE and have a successful business. Ah, you say, I LOVE to HELP, but I can't provide FREE HELP without going broke or not making enough money to LIVE. Sure you can. It's called customer service and it's what you provide after you make the sale.
7. LAFF - Don't LAFF! My wise old grandmother knew what she was doing. Take time out to LAFF with those in your LIFE, those you LIVE with, LOVE, WORK with, and HELP.
8. KNOW - KNOW that you don't KNOW everything, but also KNOW that someone somewhere loves you, even though you might not think so or might not even know that person yet.
9. OBEY - There is someone who knows more than you, has more experience than you, employs you, perhaps even created you. Know when to OBEY.
10. WILL - If you do the above, you'll have the WILL to survive anything that LIFE can throw at you.

Simple, but effective.

My wise old grandmother was, indeed, wise.
