Do you visualize your success? If not, why not? If you do visualize your success then how do you visualize it? I have a vision board in my office and I love it. If you don't have a vision board you can see every day I recommend you make one as soon as possible. It's actually very fun and quite entertaining once you get started. Some people like to keep their dreams private and hidden away, maybe for fear of them. Not me, it doesn't matter who sees my visions or dreams. The fact is if they don't appreciate the fact that I have a vision of what my future holds, they're probably not in my future anyway. Your vision board is just that, your vision board so do it the way you want. Mine is full of places to see and things I want to do. It's all in color and in full view of anyone who walks into my office. Sure I get to answer lots of questions about it and it is always my pleasure to do so. It also reminds me of what I want to achieve and accomplish every time I get the opportunity to talk about my vision board.

The idea for the vision board I created came from the book and the movie called "The Secret". If you haven't read or watched the Secret I recommend you do so at your earliest convenience, you owe it to yourself, trust me. The Secret helped me use more of my mind in a positive and constructive way. It encourages the positive visionary side of your personality. I have found some people who don't believe in the findings or training the secret encourages and you guessed it. They are generally negative and short sighted. It took me almost forty eight years to finally realize I could be happy and positive and not feel guilty or ashamed of it. For me, there is no going back to the dark side. As I have aged I notice different things make me happy and content. It might be a simple weekend trip with my wife or watching a movie and entertaining friends and relatives. While everyone understands my business style is wide open and hard charging, they also realize that I love to relax and kick back a bit. Do yourself a favor and learn to relax before your forty eighth birthday. That way, you won't have to hurry and catch up like I did.

Hi, Terry.  As a "Baby Boomer", I can relate to the shift in what now gives me peace and comfort.  The simple things in life work wonders for me.  Taking my mom to lunch, watching a melodrama on TV, spending a quiet afternoon at home with my husband- these are the memories I enjoy making.  Along with these recurrent "tiny pleasures," I strive to visualize my successes, small and large, and embrace learning as a life-long goal.  Sometimes it's tough to maintain a positive attitude in the midst of negativity, yet it's actually what has kept me going all these years.  Some folks call it resiliency; others determination.  I am not too proud, however, to turn to others for support and encouragement when things get rough. Fortunately, I have a wonderful broker who, when called upon, listens and helps me to see the "big picture." Thank you for expressing so openly and honestly your positive approach to life.  Keep up the great work!

Everyone I know thinks I am wildly optimistic.  I on the other hand, think my optimism comes from the positive experiences I have had in life.  Positive attitude directed at a specific goal makes great things possible.

Terry:  Excellent idea and suggestion.  I think I will start one today and I'm going to Amazon now to order the book.  Thanks.

Terry that is a great book, and I need to continually go back to it to reinforce the guidance that it gives.  Dennis

Terry - I second your recommendation for "the Secret", I watched the movie and read the book (the movie through netflix and the book through the library). I still have to start my vision board. Thanks for the reminder.
