The Amalfi Coast - Sunset over the Tyrrhenian Sea

Our daughter took this picture off the Amalfi Coast in Italy looking out over the Tyrrhenian Sea.  She is a flight attendant for a company that has one of the contracts to move our troops so this would have been a layover for a troop flight out of Naples Italy.  If you would like to see more Amalfi Coast pictures please visit her Flickr site; the Amalfi Coast.

This picture totally sums up why it is imperative that I make a trip to Italy one day!  I understand the Amalfi Coast, The Cinque Terre, Rome, Florence, Tuscany, Venice, as well as numerous other areas of that country are amazing!

Congratulations Marchel - This photo has been featured in the "Photos" Group: http://activerain.com/groups/photos

Hi Marchel, Congraulations on the feature in PHOTOS. I know this artist pretty well and I have been enjoying all of his works for years. I especially like some of his treasured pieces that I was able to capture this late summer.

Hi Marchel, I came back because your title inspired me to think about something , perhaps less obvious. I went outside and had a conversation with myself. As you know, I am sort of new at the photography hobby and I had an epiphany, all from your title of this post. What occurred to me was that I have been busily capturing the obvious but the life blood of all of his artwork is in the minuite, all the tiny little things that make the "Obvious". I told myself that I might like to try and see it and perhaps begin to focus on it more. Who knows it might be very interesting to see and a real challenge to try and capture it.

STEVE, My daughter told me days ago that her Amalfi pictures were up and I was awestruck when I saw the sunset pictures.

BRENDA, When my daughter graduated high school we did a girls trip to Italy.  Little did I know that 6 years later she would be flying there on a somewhat regular basis.

BETTY, Thanks!  We had a gorgeous Sunday here in Spring also!

KEVIN, I'm not familiar with Amarone wine but I just did a google search and see that it is a dry red wine.  According to Wikipedia "The wine was awarded Denominazione di Origine Controllatastatus in December 1990."  I have no idea what that means but I did learn something new.

TREY, I agree!  It somehow has Italy written all over it.

MYRL, Thanks for featuring my daughter's photo and Thanks for setting the new photo group up.  I  usually can come up with 4 places to put my photos so this was perfect!

LANA, Thanks for remembering the post about our son!  He has acclimated quick to the life of a college student.  He took 12 hours this summer and has 16 hours going this semester.  So far he is making all A's!!

MISTY, Truly amazing!

WILLIAM, The more I learn from this artist the more I find I need to learn.

LOREENA, It is above our comprehension; isn't it!!!

MIKE, I thought the picture had a spiritual quality to it also.

WILLIAM, Wow!  I will be curious to see your photography.  My daughter has an eye for the minuet.  You should check her Flickr site out.  She takes pictures of ice cream cones in a window and makes them so fascinating. I have seen some amazing sunrises at my friends condo in San Diego. I'm getting ready to come see her again at the end of the month.  Her place is about the only time that I ever see a sunrise as I'm not a morning person but with the 2 hour time difference I'm up early at her place.

DEBI, I always love your photography.  I will need to go and check your blog out.

GARY WOLTAL, These instances are why our daughter does what she does.  That and she loves the troops!

TOM, It is totally serene!  I love the water and this is incredible!

PATRICIA, Someone paying for her travel is EXACTLY why our daughter is hopping around the world.

CARON, I can't take credit this is our daughter's picture.  She has the eye!!!

GARY WHITE, The photo struck me as soon as I saw it on daughter's site.  Being the MOM I get free rein on her site which is very cool as I love her photos.

JIM & MARIE, I want to go back for a visit.  I LOVE ITALY!  We were there in 2000 and they were the friendliest people!!

DIANE, God does some INCREDIBLE work!  Our daughter has the eye to catch his work also!

CHERON, You will love Italy.  I want to go back!

LEAH, It does the same for me.  We keep talking about going to Italy again but need to plan it!

GAIL, She had thought about going for a Master in photography but then decided that it might make her not enjoy something she loves.  She loved design until she got a degree in Communication Design and then got burnt out.  She is just now starting to design again.  She mainly uses her skills in her photography which she loves.

KATHRYN, I thought it was a perfect Speechless Sunday post as looking at it makes you speechless!

JOAN, After seeing our daughters Amalfi coast set we are ready to go!!

CAROLE, It is a stunning photograph!  I can't even imagine seeing it for real!

SHIRLEY, I have been to Italy once but want to go back.  We did a girls trip to Italy when my daughter graduated from high school.  I want to take my husband back to the southern part.  He would not enjoy all the art in the northern part but I'm sure he would love Rome and I know he would love the Amalfi coast.

LYNDA, I had to look up the Tyrrhenian Sea also.  My daughter always likes to be specific on her Flickr site.  It is to the left of the boot.

ROBERT, My daughter takes photography to a level far beyond me.  I will tell her what you said and I did add this to the cloud group.  I'm not sure why I didn't think of that group; maybe because it is such a different looking cloud.

MARY, Our daughter has some incredible lay overs which is why she does what she does.

STEVE, Our daughter said it was incredible.  We plan on visiting in the next few years.

JUDY, I had never heard of the Amalfi coast but now that I have seen pictures I want to go.

JENNIFER, It is quite the artwork.  His splendor is beyond our comprehension.

ROBERT,I shared your comment with our daughter.  I'm proud of her photography skills.  If you have time you should check her Flickr site out.

CYNTHIA,  She had three of these for me to choose from.  They were all great.  I decided on this one because you could see so much of the sky.
