Readers: One thought I had when taking this photo, is to slow down. We all are moving too fast. Learn from the turtle. Learn to pause, and ENJOY LIFE!!

I feel like that turtle kid: I like turtles. My first pet was a turtle. After a while, he got a little stinky so I bathed him in the bathroom sink. I filled it with really hot water and boiled him to death.

Look at all those turtles! What a great place to hang out and take a lesson in  'slowing down'!

Gary

It's what I would call, sun tanning for turtles.

Good luck and success.

Gary:  Love this picture.  Those turtles are so cute.  Funny timing too.  I snapped a photo of a friends turtle flipping around in an aquarium last night.  It was just too cute to pass up.

Gary, I'm glad it stopped raining in your part of the country so you could get this great shot! And yes, we do need to slow down a bit.

Gary, great photo, turtles are such enigmatic creatures - they are fun to watch.  Last time I was in Dallas I discovered the fabulous World Aquariam ( not quite sure of the name) that is like a rainforest - it is so fabulous!  I found it on my last day wandering downtown, have you been? I told my friend who I'd been staying with and she didn't know about it.  I am going this week again and am going to make her go with me, maybe this time I'll bring my camera - what an amazing place!

There are so many of them I thought at first they weren't real.  Turtles do know how to relax and enjoy a sunny day!

Hey, Gary. I love your thought on this one. I admit that I should slow down. Thanks for sharing, Jim

Hi Gary...OK, ok, I shouldn't be thinking of turtle soup when I look at this.  I don't know why I did when I've never had it nor do I want to try it.

Gary you've taken this to another cool level - and you've given me some more great ideas.  Love this shot!  At my aunt's assisted living place they have an enclosed outdoor garden pation - with two HUGE turtles - it's very cool watching these guys make the folks smile and want to feed them.  And they walk as slow as them too!

I have people askng me for property with a Duck pond.  But, I don't think a turtle pond has ever been on the list!

Gary... At first glance, I thought this was the LaBrea Tar Pits in LA.  Being from Texas, I quickly rethought that.  Once I saw all the turtles, it made me relax... I envied them.. being able to soak up all the sun.

Gary - Really a nifty looking scene.  I love how the turtles have perched themselves on those little bridges.

Isnt that the water just outside the fair? Its cool to see all of the turtles there. They do just sort of hang out in the sun.

Gary -- Wow...don't think I ever seen that many turtles sunning at one time.  I, too love how they perch on the bridges and probably end up meeting in the middle.

Gary:  Now that's quite a photo!  I almost ran over a turtle with my lawnmower, I thought it was a rock.  Who said turtles are slow?  You should have seen that rock, er, turtle move out of the way.  I stopped when I saw movement so no turtles were harmed during the mowing of my yard.
