North GA Mountain Real Estate

Has anyone been to the North Georgia Mountains lately?  It is now the time of the year.  The leaves are changing and the festivals have begun.  My husband and I purchased a cabin in Coosawatee River Resort this summer and are looking forward to get up there.  It's just difficult to find the time these days.  The real estate market in Glimer, Pickens, and Lumpkin counties has been extremely active over the last 2 years.  The locals don't know what to think of it.  The younger residents welcome the change, but the older residents can't stand it.  While everyone is really nice, there are some people that dislike us "Atlanta City Folk".  I'm sure this is common in all parts of the US where expansion is taking place into rural, scenic, areas. Any comments?
