Speechless Sundays - Cocoa Beach Air Show

Looks like they put on quite a show.  We enjoy the Blue Angels when they come here for the hydroplane races.

I grew up in the AF, my dad was an F86-D and an F105 pilot.  Lived in El Centro NAS, Ca. where the Blue Angels would practice.  Woke up many mornings with them doing super-sonic bomb-burst formations.

Rattled the windows.

In the 60's, we lived on Kadena AFB in Okinawa.  That was during the run-up in Vietnam in '65.  We lived off base at the warm-up end of the runway.  For weeks we couldn't get to sleep because of the 24x7 B52 flights warming up.

Then we got used to it, no problem.  Then about a year later we moved on base and were off to the side of the field.  No more thundering engines on warm-up. 

For weeks we couldn't get to sleep because it was too quiet.  Then we got used to it.

I grew up with military aircraft and love to watch them.

Looks like great weather and great fun John! Thanks for sharing! We get a lot of jets from Nellis that fly over our house several times a week. 

Now there's a great photo of the beach ... in OCTOBER, no less.  Here, we would be wearing a Winter coat over the bikini. :)

John-I love airshows.  We anchored once in the Indian River to watch an airshow and it was spectacular.  Thank you for sharing the photos.

John - What amazing shots.  I've seen the Blue Angels perform.  And have wondered how in the heck they can fly within in mere inches of each other and not crash.  My Navy retired son says, "Practice, practice, practice."  But it seems during the learning experience something could go amiss on the way to perfection:-)
