October skys turn Blue to Gray. and foliage trees from red to brown winter is on the way

What a difference two weeks make, The first photo is from Early October and the second shot is from today.

Dramatic reds against a nearly clear blue sky...this day is behind us now. New Hampshire has shed its bright colors in favor of the grays and browns that occur soon after the peak of fall foliage.

The slopes of Loon Mountain Ski area, have gotten their first dusting of snow and a major loss of leaves...the grays and whites have set in, and you can bet this will be followed by more and more white.

One week ago today October 11th 4:30 in the afternoon from my kitchen window.

October 18th 4:30 same view from my kitchen window.

Its time to buy the ski season's pass and get the firewood in...the cold is coming and snow wouldn't be far behind.

I'll be ready for the ski season, will you?

Val...I'm always working with the seasons, this is life in a resort town I hope you like the pix.

Steve...trees are also looking bare, but no white spots today. 62 degrees coming yoiur way!

Bill...that sounds good I need to get my wood in, 60's would feel great about now.

A few weeks makes a HUGE difference! Especially here, we jumped from Fall into Winter already!

Steve, It looks like the colors are still beautiful but yes all good things must come to an end, some times and 'tis the season'. Our mountains have a little snow on top too. Here in Utah it is usually nice until Halloween, just in time for the trick or treaters'. We are expecting a little rain tomorrow. It has been an amazing weekend however. Have a great Monday!

Debbie, We have already had some tricks and treats with some odd weather patterns, I will look forward to snow as there is nothing I can do to stop it from coming.

Steve - Looks like a great place to visit , but oh my , the snow is truly scary for a gal from Florida.

I love the FALL colors but I LOVE the beach better

Laura...I could get you a box of snow, but it might be acid rain when it got to you!!

Steve - - Your photos are beautiful - - I love the White Mountains but we just don't get over there often enough. A couple years ago, we drove to North Conway to get home-made gelato at Bellini's - - It was Autumn and it was gorgeous and the gelato (and dinner) were delicious! I wish people would just get over the whole snow thing - - don't they know how much fun it is?

Terry...The snow can be a lot of Fun...and more importantly, we can't stop it so you may as well enjoy the change of season its coming whether we like it or not.
