This week we staged 2 Los Angeles condos for a real estate auction company.

This was the first time they had worked with a home stager and this was the first time I had worked with a real estate auction company. I think its a match made in heaven. The condos they will be auctioning look 100% better now that they've been staged by Moving Mountains Design. Having a more desirable product to auction should create greater urgency to bid resulting in more units sold and higher prices paid.

Here are photos of the Pacoima condo before and after home staging:

Master bedroom before home staging

Master bedroom before staging. The auction company had rented a queen size bed when a king size bed would show how large the master bedroom was. This bed was moved to another bedroom and I brought in a king set.

2nd Bedroom before staging

This was the second bedroom before staging. I moved the queen bed in here to demonstrate how large the secondary bedrooms were.

2nd Bedroom after staging

There's plenty of room in this second bedroom for a queen bed.

Here's a shot of the living room. Sorry, no before shot.

Kate: I hadn't thought of that. Unfortunately it is cost prohibitive to buy Brook's furniture. I'll just be happy to get more work from this real estate auction company. I hope this is a coming trend - home staging for REOs, foreclosures and real estate auctions.

This looks fantastic Michelle!  When I've staged for auction they do not stage the bedrooms-how great you got a completed look in the home.  Much success to you with this venture.

Cathy Lee: Thanks. I was surprised that they were willing to pay for 3 bedrooms, 2 family rooms, LR, DR, & 2.5 bathrooms. I was happy with the way it turned out.

These look amazing, Michelle.  Your Staging certainly made sense of the floor plan and optimizing the size of the rooms, which is imperative.  Keep us informed to the quick sales of these units!

Michelle- You did a great job.  I did a foreclosure last year of a vacant property and it made such a difference.  Unfortunately their funds ran out at the end of the year.  I agree that it would be a perfect fit for REO's and auctions to pair with Stagers.  Let's keep our fingers crossed that they see the light.

Hi Connie: The floor plans were a little tricky, so staging was a good way to make sense of it. The auction is Nov. 15. I'm curious to see if they sell for more than what the auction company anticipates.

Thank you Kathy. I'm hoping this auction is so successful they will be foolish not to stage every auction property.

Whoo Hoo!  MM, this is fantastic... and of course, so is your beautiful staging ;) This is the perfect niche right now. Hopefully an investor will buy the prop and have you continue the staging for them.  We could coin this new strategy as "double dipping". Yippee!

Hi Michelle,

It's so nice to meet a Pasadena based stager.  I moved from Pasadena (Linda Vista Neigborhood) 2 years ago to the wonderful land of Oregon.  Many of my LA friends are in flux and are thinking of moving so it's nice to know a local home stager that I can recommend to them since I'm no longer there.  Nice work and great pics!

What? You didn't like the single office chair in the secondary bedroom. Very ultra-modern and Swedish! :-)

Reminded me of that Saturday Night Live skit...

Seriously... great work and be sure to post an update after the auction!

Thank you James!

Ashley: There was furniture in the strangest places when I first went to look at it. The auction is November 15 so I post after that.
