My owner is a Realtor with Century 21 Award in San Diego. The rich and famous seem to be in the news today, and while I don't follow the antics of the rich and famous like many people do -- I have a life of my own -- I am sometimes amazed at how different my life is from theirs.

Along with Keanu Reeves having problems with his unknown wife's demand for $3 million per month in spousal support, Nicholas Cage has his own problems.

Cage's business manager, one Samuel Levin, allegedly failed to pay the actor's taxes and made poor investment decisions, sending cage "down a Leaving Las Vegaspath toward financial ruin." Cage is suing for $20 million in damages. Hmmmm. I thought he made that with just one movie. I guess it's time to go back to work and make another movie to save yourself from financial ruin.

There's that dastardly word "work." Oh, how awful to have to work.

Now I don't know anything about Samuel Levin other than he has had no complaints filed against him in his long business management career. Is it possible that Cage, like so many others, just got caught up in the economic climate and then also got caught down in that same climate?

And what person making millions of dollars a year doesn't keep track of his money? Huh? My business manager sends me quarterly reports, and I actually read them. Do the rich and famous not do that basic and simple thing?

Ah well, to have the problems of the rich and famous....

By the way, did you know that Nicholas Cage's uncle is Francis Ford Coppola?

I can't say that I've ever met anyone famous beyond my neighborhood -- no mayors, governors, movie stars -- no one. I've been sheltered.

Hey, Joan - Even though Francis Ford was Cage's uncle, I suspect that little Nicholas wasn't wanting for anything. When there's at least one rich and famous person in the family, the other family members don't usually seem to suffer too much from the ills of society.

Hey, Bryan - Don't feel bad. Neither have I. Maybe we should start an "I've never met anyone famous" group here at ActiveRain. I bet we'd have quite a few members. It just might be the largest group here at ActiveRain -- LOL. I have gone to a lot of big events hoping to meet someone famous -- like the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles -- but I never got that lucky.
