ActiveRain's Re-Blog has been around a long time.  The "wouldja?"  does not refer to whether you like Re-Bog or not... the wouldja is  if you disagree with a post would you Re-blog another members content and turn it into a Re-Buttal?

In reponse to a question which is  basically  "Can I Re-Blog someone's content and disagree with what they've posted*?"

Bob Stewart wrote:

"I would encourage you to remember the Realtor Code of Ethics and the ActiveRain community guidelines in doing so. ActiveRain does encourage dissenting opinions and feel that continually challenging and examining the status quo is essential to the evolution of the real estate community.

I will caution you this. Don't continually go after the same person and challenge every one of their posts or I will think you have a bone to pick."

Have you ever Re-Blogged another member's content to disagree with it?  Wouldja?

ActiveRain's Re-Blog used to Re-Butt another members post

Let's use a  couple of members who are home inspectors as  an example:

Member A is a home inspector who is a member of ASHI.  In fact he is very involved in the local ASHI chapter.  He writes proudly about this organization he is a member of.

Member B  is a home inspector with credentials from another well respected home inspection organization.

Member A blogs to consumers about ASHI.

Member B Re-Blogs the post and his post disagrees with something the blog said. A Re-Blog Re-Butt?

Wouldja?

ActiveRain's Re-Blog used to Re-Butt RE agent vs. RE agent

The person Bob was replying to is a real estate agent, I have no idea if he is a member of NAR.  Also I have no idea if home inspection groups like ASHI, NAHI, NACHI, etc have a code of ethics...

Member A a Keller Williams agent blogs about their brand...

Member B someone who is not a fan of the Keller Williams brand uses Member A's content to Re-Blogs and  Re-Buttal...

ActiveRain's Re-Blog used to Re-Butt  a lender example:

Member A is a mortgage broker.  Member A writes a post about what he is able to do for you as a consumer that someone who is NOT a mortgage broker can't...

Member B is in the mortgage  industry too. Member B is NOT  a mortgage broker.  Member B does a Re-Blog of the post and points out why you should NOT use a mortgage broker.

Have you ever Re-Blogged something to Re-Butt the content?

* This is paraphrasing rather than a quote of the members question.

Donald,

I can see the reblog, but where is the re-butt? (LOL). I read the original, was surprised that never even thought about it this way. Interesting

Donald - too funny! I also did a reblog as I thought it was a great discussion and I had some comments to make to the commenters.

By the way, there is nothing wrong with reblogging in order to offer a differing opinion.
