Woo Hoo, One of my favorite pictures. Emerald Bay is one the most photographed places in the world. Little wonder, right. I did not know that until I took a boat cruise there. This was taken from the hwy above it on a cloudy day. Imagine those colors on a bright sunny day.

Hi Shirley. Thank You, this is one of my favorites. Emerald Bay is on the southwest corner of Lake Tahoe ( CA).

Also of note: That is a castle  that you see some of in the photo right off the beach there. It is called Vikingsholm and there are quite a few things about it on the Internet. I linked an article on the name if you are interested in knowing a bit more. I also have a great photo of it from the water.

Hi Russel,

Thank you for that. That was very kind of you to say. I had such a great consistent thing going and then, well, I backed away for a while and now, I am back on schedule.

Hi William,

Lake Tahoe, right? And who wouldn't love it, what a spectacular place, it's been about 12 years for me. I was there once in the summer and again in the winter, it's always breathtaking.

Hi Lynda, You are right. I  love it there and it would be very enjoyable to me any time of year. Though I haven't been there in the winter months, it must so beautiful.

Oh my goodness William - That is an incredible shot of Tahoe's Emerald Bay.  You really did get around in the last few months and capture some wonderful sights.  That whole area changes with the seasons, and each season presents its own flavors to view. . .The first dustings of snow should come soon, if they haven't already!  For certain the leaves have began to color.  You captured it beautifully here.

Hi Myrl, Thank You. That was an easy shot. Just pull the car over and Voila. With a few thousand photos from that trip, I am still on a mission to get to more places when I can get much more. I am on the hunt for a another new camera. This one is 5 months old already and I know better of what I need. There is so much to see in the world and still tons right here at home. I can't wait to get to share some of it. Sometimes I wished I didn't have to work for a living for I would just visit all the cool places in the world and of course photograph them. Not likely to happen unless some wealthy person likes me a whole bunch, LOL.

Very nice William... I was going to ask where, but you answered that... I've never been to the south end of Tahoe... looks like I better plan a trip... Also, I haven't forgotten you re: market data... still looking for data that works with my program... talk to you soon.

Hi Jon, Certainly. I love writing and increasingly I seem to have less to say. Since I am loving the results of my photographic efforts, I allow the photo to replace much that I could have written. Photos generate a lot of words about the what, where, who, and why, etc. and though many of my pictures are things I have observed outside of my area, the beauty in the world belongs to everyone and beauty, though in the eye of the beholder, generates feelings that generate words. So I replace a lot of words about real estate and replaced them with photos that generate words with feeling. Not a bad thing in my estimation. In fact, I would like to encourage more of us to better illustrate things with photos. I am starting a new group called the ActiveRainPhotoBlogger and my goal once I launch ( delayed for technical reasons) will be in presentation of photos and what can be done to optimize their story telling use. Not unlike Photojournalism , except that PhotoBlogging is not bound by the same rules requiring an action within the photo.  More about that later but perhaps you will understand better when I launch the group with a presentation as opposed to just presenting a photo.

Hi Rick, If I lived that close, I would be there often. You desereve to go and take advantage of all this. There is so much to discover there. So many places near all of us I am sure  that is blessed with much natural beauty. What I also am discovering is that just below the obvious, there are more photo stories to be told and I am discovering in myself a yearning to uncover them.

Hello Michael and Cheron, Thank you for your very nice comment  and compliment. Prior to my trips to Lake Tahoe, I would have likely had the same guess. Sort of looks like what one would expect there. The give away is that there is no northern pacific ocean water that color. The clearity of Lake Tahoe makes it the 3rd clearest lake or waterway in the the US. But the color is more what we would expect around some of the Hawaiian Islands or the Caribean.

Hi Diane, Thank You Thank You. I am enjoying the experience and have set some new lofty goals to re-photograph as much of San Diego as I can, over the next couple years. First I still may need better ( more) resolution, requiring more pixels to resize and adapt for presentation quality. I am setting up a new group ( a sort of photo journalism group, photo bloggers) to share resources and techniques in photo presentation. I will let you know about that as I get closer to the announcement.

Stunning William! I once lost a gold earring water skiing in Emeral Bay - and I remember how cold the water was - definite need for a wetsuit, even in the summer! I lived on the South Shore for about 4 years, but sadly, was not into photography at that time...Geez. All those missed shots!!!!

Debi

PS I'm intersted in learning more about your new group as well!

Hi Debi, Thank You so much. It is quite cold. I went out in the water and sat on a rock in about 2 foot of water out at Sand Harbor Beach. I can tell that I was shocked at how cold it was and it was probably warm in comparison to skiing over the depths. And we thought the Pacific Ocean was cold. It was like wading in ice water without the ice. :-)

Debi, you don't know this but I have spent hours over this past weekend looking and reading through your blog and website and love your work and how you present it. You can be assured that I will be in touch with you about the new group when it is launched.

Hi Debi, Like I said, it was me that was truly impressed. And yes, shame on me for not saying hello. I was interupted so many times and I kept going back and forth into the MLS and it is a very lame excuse :-). Next time, I will make point of it.

Hi Joan, I love looking at it too. I mentioned this already but on my boat cruise, it was said that Emerald Bay is the one of the  most photographed places in the world. Somehow, that seems about right. The beauty is endless.  Doing fine here, trying get things closed is always a real challenge these days. Part of the new real estate industry we are part of.

Hi William - That is a different view of Emerald Bay than I have taken.  Most of mine show the island and look out to the lake.  I have posted a couple of them on my blog too (some time back).  It really is a beautiful place and this is a great photo.

Hi Suan, Check this one out. That island Tea House sort of got my attention. Not just because it was all that really special, it was but when you look close, you see people in it. When I saw them moving away from the windows, they also saw me and disappead when I asked how they got up there. There  were no boats anywhere to be found. I counted 3 people moving around. 2 of them scrunched  up near the back of the side window opening.
